WHAT TO WEAR WHEN GETTING READY FOR YOUR WEDDING

What to wear while getting ready for your wedding can be a tricky thing to nail down. This button up thermal top is a GREAT option! && here’s why…

Here are a couple of non negotiables when choosing your wedding day OOTD:

You want something that buttons up so you can easily remove it to put on your dress without messing up your hair or makeup.

You also want something without a collar or hood. Your hair stylist will thank you!

&& these are things that went through my mind personally and helped me make my decision:

I knew I wanted something that I wouldn’t get too hot in (hello nerves).

I also was not into the idea of getting ready in a silk robe or something that seemed more like lingerie or pjs. I just wanted a comfortable, easy outfit that was casual and felt like me.

The morning of the wedding we woke up at my mom’s house in Versailles and then made the trip to Frankfort to get coffee, check into our hotel rooms, drop off our cars and then shuttle over to the venue. I knew there were going to be several people around the venue and I wanted to be able to wander around and check everything out and take it all in. This was one of the reasons why I wanted to wear “real clothes”. I didn’t want to be holed upstairs in a room in a nighty haha!

I wanted something I could pair with my favorite leggings. I knew I would be comfortable if I did that.

I did not necessarily need to wear white but when we stumbled across these thermal tops I decided to go with the white since it was a color option. My mom and sister fell in love with the top too and ordered one in grey and black for themselves. We had not intended to match but we all ended up really liking the tops! Side note: We found these the week before the wedding and had them rush shipped. Haha! Do yourself a favor and order ahead of time.

Wearing size small.

I wore sneakers to the venue but intended to change into my slippers while getting ready. You don’t want sock or tennis shoe laces imprinted on your foot in your photos! But, we were all so warm that I switched to my flip flops. I was glad I brought options because I would have been dying in my Ugg slippers! You might want to add that idea to your list too if you are a bride-to-be.

And lastly, a few iPhone snaps from the day of that I couldn’t resist throwing in here:

Whatever you choose, just remember that there probably will be some snapshots of you in it. I hope this helps if you are mid struggle! xx
