MY HIGH TEA BRIDAL SHOWER

Last weekend my aunts threw me a bridal shower and it was a high tea!

I COMPLETELY loved how unique the idea was, they executed it perfectly and it proved to be such a great way to spend time together!  I had never been to a high tea before so the whole experience was new to me.

As soon as we arrived my aunts served champagne, mimosas and pomegranate + mint infused waters.  Then we all sat down in the dining room and started the tea.  They had so many different assorted teas to choose from–my favorite was the blackberry elderflower.. it was SO good!  The little tea pots made for such a cute tablescape too!  And speaking of the tables, there were also gorge floral arrangements on them.  White hydrangeas and green poufs (no, I don’t know what those are called haha) filled square vases in the dining room, on the gift table in the living room and in the bathroom.  Such a nice touch from the hostess!

Then we started with the 3 different courses.  The first was tea sandwiches.  We had pimento cheese, chicken salad, egg salad and benedictine.  All crustless and cut in small triangles or circles.  Adorable and yummy.  Next we had some savories.  These trays consisted of mini quiche, spinach + artichoke dip cups, and spanakopita (a greek pastry with spinach).  All were divine!  And lastly came the sweets.  They served macaroons, lemon bars, petit fours (with black sprinkles!) and scones + clotted cream + two different jams.

I can tell you first hand–EVERYTHING was fab.  I tried one of every yummy item offered!  #sorrynotsorry

Also important to note, the tea made for such a nice and intimate setting.  We were all able to chat and I got to share so many wedding details with them.  I highly suggest doing a bridal shower this way.  Made for a perfect memory.  It would also be really fun to throw one for a baby shower or just for your girlfriends.  I loved that my aunt got to use all of her wedding china and silver trays.  How special?

As a gift for the guests, my aunts had small succulents for everyone to choose from and take home.  Oh.. and one last detail that I HAVE to note, there was a framed photo of Milly on the gift table.  You know I was v happy that she had a presence at the high tea!!

This may have been my first high tea but it definitely won’t be my last!  We’re considering Paris for our honeymoon and I am already researching places to go enjoy one there.  I would also love to host one in the future.

Have a really good weekend! xx
