I ordered this shift dress from Nordstrom before our trip to DC last weekend because I thought it would be a perfect travel dress (I’m always thankful when I pack outfits that are easy and not fussy on trips) & I knew I would also get wear out of it in the future.  It’s one of those easy to throw on pieces that you can dress up with heels and earrings or dress down with flat sandals and a cross-body.  I figured I could throw it on for dinner and drinks or I could also wear it to a cocktail party.  Oh–and I love the color and the fact that it’s a v-neck [&& under $100]!  fyi, I did get mine hemmed to be a bit shorter on me.

I had been to DC once before but I hadn’t had the chance to explore the Georgetown area.  I knew it would be right up my alley so I was anxious to head there for dinner and drinks on Saturday.  We got lucky and missed the rain so it was a beautiful night!  We had a long wait for dinner but we really didn’t mind because we wanted to have some time to enjoy the view of the water and the huge boats. Ordering a couple of Coronas from an outdoor bar made it officially feel like SUMMER! 🙂  We decided to go to Farmers, Fishers & Bakers (thanks to all of you who sent me recommendations) because it was also by the water and had a huge, interesting menu.  I ordered a pickled veggie and feta salad and a crab cake and it was yummmm!  The decor was also too cute.  There was a big claw-foot tub outside the restrooms with a stream of water running into it from the ceiling and you can find little marble bee hives in the stalls of the ladies room with bees up above.   Definitely winning uniqueness points there!  I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area!

I’m wishing I was back on vaycay today–BUT I am pumped that it’s already Friday Eve!  Short weeks are the best, right?!
