MY 7 FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIES

I thought it would be fun to share my MUST watch holiday movies with you all!  I am sure some of you share in my love for these classics, but if you are looking for some inspiration on what to curl up with your loved ones and watch this year then any of these would be great!  (&& yes, I put these in order according to my favorites…)

1. CHEVY CHASE CHRISTMAS VACATION

2. HOME ALONE 2 LOST IN NEW YORK

3. HOME ALONE

4. A CHRISTMAS STORY

5. ELF

6. THE GRINCH

7. THE HOLIDAY

Annnd, I can’t leave you without mentioning some details on this outfit.  I don’t wear a ton of color but I couldn’t resist picking up this bright red sweater for the Holidays when I was shopping with my mom recently.  It is so, so soft!  And I love how it is oversized.  It would be a perf option to pair with leggings too.  ps, it’s under $20!  …meaning I definitely need another color, now that I think about it! [wearing a small]

I added my this light wash denim from Levi’s to give the look an updated feel.  I won’t lie, I don’t wear this pair tons because they aren’t the most comfortable–they don’t have any stretch to them.  But I do love the style so they come out to play every so often.  [wearing a 25]

I hope you all are getting all geared up for Christmas!  I am so looking forward to all the time with our fam!

YOU NEED A PAIR OF LOAFERS IN YOUR CLOSET

Turtleneck || Jeans, similar || Faux Fur Stole || Velvet Loafers || Handbag || Sunglasses

Sometimes I struggle with shoes to wear to work.  It’s hard to find a pair that is comfortable enough for all day wear and still on point style-wise.  I have a couple pairs of trusty ballet flats but as it gets cooler I find myself wanting something that covers up my foot a bit more for warmth and also to hide my pale feet a bit (since I usually only tan for the weekends).  So this year I set out to find a pair of loafers.

Last week I was browsing the Nordstrom site and came across these Sam Edelman loafers.  SOLD.  My favorite flats are Sam Edelman and they have held up great so I figured these would be a good choice.  And when I saw that they came in black velvet with silver hardware I almost couldn’t get them in my cart fast enough.  I think that combo makes them trendy, yet is still so classic.  I think these run true to size/maybe a tad big.  If you are in between sizes I would definitely go down.  [wearing a 7.5]

I plan to wear mine with black skinny pants to the office and with jeans in the evenings and on the weekends.  I have them on here with a pink stole (How fun?!), black turtleneck (Great basic! Wearing a small) and levi’s.  and I cant wait to wear them with my stripe cashmere sweater soon too.  I love how they will elevate a simple outfit.

If you are in the market for some loafers and want to browse a few more options then scroll through these picks:

Alrighty, and now it’s on to packing.  We leave on Thursday for our trip to San Diego and LA and while I cannot wait, I am also having a hard time squeezing everything in this week to get prepped.  So wish me luck.  HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Oversized Sweater & Shopbop Sale Picks

This is pretty much going to be my uniform once the temps drop.  An oversized sweater, leather leggings, embellished sneakers, larger than life sunnies and a catch-all bag.  DONE.

I love this sweater more in person than I did online and that’s saying something because I was immediately obsessed.  The texture and size makes it perfectly chic.  I am ordering a second color–and I’m thinking I am going for the navy.  I don’t have many navy options in my closet and I love the idea of pairing it with black for a Winter look. The best part?  It is not itchy at all!!! [wearing a small]

&& I cannot leave you all hanging on the maj sale that is going on–the Shopbop has started!  Shopbop houses one of the best mix of brands and they rarely do site-wide sales so when they do it makes for a great time to do a little shopping and grab something for the new season.  Think about buying pieces that will be staples.. straight leg jeans, lux sweaters, faux fur jackets, trendy sneakers, moto jackets.  Key items that you can build outfits around time and time again.  Here are my picks for you all to browse and get inspiration from:

Ok, let me know what you all buy!  && haaaaaappy Friday Eve!!

If I am being 100% honest, my favorite leggings are the wonder under style from lululemon.  I have them in the crop and the 7/8, they’re that good.  HOWEVER, these Zella leggings are definitely my 2nd faves.  They have so many good qualities!

  • super high waisted–very flattering and perfect for crop tops too
  • excellent material–they are thick (so you can’t see through them) but breathable
  • durable–I wash and dry mine a couple of times each week (it’s nice to not have to hang them to dry, I just throw mine in the dryer!)
  • they run tts–I am wearing an xs
  • they’re versatile–I wear mine to actually workout but I also feel like they are a pair that can be worn to run errands or with tall boots and sweaters in the fall/winter

If you live in leggings like I do then give these a try!  They are on sale for only today & tomorrow! fyi, they are long on me so I fold the bottom up.
Ok, time for a little fun in the sun at the lake.  We’re in the car headed that way now–which is why I have to wrap this up before we hit the curvy roads haha! Hope you all are having a great weekend!

4th of July Outfit Inspiration

Since we just had the first official weekend of Summer [yayyy],  I figure we can celebrate with this outfit I wore to brunch when we were in NYC because this white ruffle top and these red earrings would be the perfect combo for the 4th of July!

I have already worn this top too many times to count.  I love the way the crisp white pairs with a tan (real or faux like mine, haha) and the one shoulder makes it just a tad different.  You could pair it with navy or denim and it would be perfect for the holiday.  Shorts or a skirt in either one would be so cute.

Since sizes are limited in my top, I found two very similar options!  Shop them here (on major sale) and here (comes in lots of colors too).

These earrings are the perfect way to add a fun pop to your outfit.  They weigh practically nothing which is KEY when looking for a big earring!  They can be worn with a dressy or casual outfit (even a bathing suit!) so they will pair well with whatever plans you have in store.  BONUS: They come with free 2-day shipping so they will arrive in time!  If you’re looking for a slightly smaller pair then you could give these a try!

A couple more fun items that would be great to work into your 4th of July weekend:

At first I was bummed about the 4th being on a Tuesday.  I will have to work on Monday and Wednesday so…that kinda stinks.  But, I’ve decided to look at the bright side this week.  After all, it is still a holiday.  And I have a strict policy about celebrating any and all holidays!  Why not?!  Plus, it will be a nice way to break up the M-F week!

Oh, and ps–I sized up two sizes in these jeans to get this fit.  They are my very favorite pair right now too.  LOVE!
