I hope you all had a great NYE! We rented a cabin with friends for this weekend and it has been so much fun. We went for a hike yesterday (I piled everything from my suitcase on me to try and stay warm, ha) and spent the rest of the weekend cozied up inside. We kept the fire kicking and spent our time cooking, playing card games and of course drinking bubbly!
Since it has been so darn cold here, you better believe I packed all my Uggs. We snapped these pictures right after we arrived on Saturday. This is the view right outside our back door. Pretty, right? I’m wearing my Classic Mini Uggs in chestnut that I got ordered from Nordstrom. I have taller Uggs in the sand color and in black too, but these are the pair that I reach for most often and end up wearing constantly. They are so easy to slip on and are still super cozy but aren’t as much of a commitment as a higher boot is. I usually wear them with footies and leave a little skin showing between the top of the Ugg and my pants but since it’s been freeeezing here, I added some warm camp socks to my look.
After seeing these pics I am thinking I should snag a pair in black too since they would go with so many outfits. They run true to size.

There are some items I buy that I love but I know I wont get that much wear out of. Some things just require an occasion that doesn’t occur everyday. However–totally not the case with these pieces!
If I’m being honest, the very first thing I do when I come in the door at the end of the day [besides greeting the fur babies] is change into comfy, loungy clothes. Case in point.. I have these pants and these UGG slippers on right now as I type this post for you all, seriously! [see below for more options that also fit this mold!]
I love a good mocassin to wear around the house. In fact I have these and I wear them lots but I was really wanting a pair of true slide-on slippers. They’re perfect to keep right by the side of your bed or at the bottom of the couch because you can just slip them on in half a second before you hop up and get to avoid the cold floor all together. [Now not only do I sound lazy but I also sound kinda old, don’t I? But I don’t even care. They make me that happy, ha!] And since they’re made by UGG, I know they will last. I’ve had my other mocassins for 9 years. Yep, 9! How crazy is that?!
These would make the PERFECT gift too. (Plus–hello free shipping from Nordstrom, heyyy! Always a plus.) When I was younger, we got some sort of pjs each year from my Granny & Pappyo. As soon as we opened them we put them on. I feel like I would revert right back to my younger self if I opened these on Christmas morning. They would immediately go on my feet! [I sized up, I’m wearing an 8] Mine are the Chestnut color option.
I wish you all could feel these pants. They’re pretty amaze. Like a thin, soft fleece material–super soft. They come in several other colors too. [wearing an xs] I will definitely be trying more items from this brand that I came across at Nordstrom. Oh, and this sweater also comes in a really festive red color option! It’s the perf amount of oversize and slouch! [wearing a small]
FYI–snag this mug because it’s a great stocking stuffer or friend gift. Under $15!

We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Chicago (stay tuned for a full travel diary post) and we had the best time. And I over-packed. Shocker. I just can’t help myself when we are driving somewhere though–it’s like you don’t have to worry about your suitcase being overweight for the flight so why not just bring that extra pair of shoes just in case, right?! However, for this trip I am really glad that my new Uggs made it into my bag. I know you might be thinking, “Wait, Uggs? We’re wearing those again?” and for me, the answer is definitely yes. Uggs are just way to comfy & cozy & easy to pass up. And honestly I never stopped wearing mine. I got two pairs of the classic tall Uggs in college and I have worn them ever since.
That being said, it was time for me to grab a new pair. I decided half way through the Winter last year that I would buy a new pair when this Fall rolled around. I settled on the Classic Mini II because I have never had a shorter pair and I thought they would be really quick to pull on during the weekends and when running errands. [I sized up and got an 8]

Saturday we got up early and did several shoots and even shot a little video for you all. After we wrapped all of that up, we headed to grab coffee and I threw on my Uggs and beanie to keep warm. (We decided to walk to get some steps in instead of talking an Uber.) On the way down the street I said to Ethan, “I really do feel like I’m walking around on little mini clouds” and he just rolled his eyes at me and laughed–but I was serious! && speaking of, if you have a pair that you’ve worn for a while and they are starting to feel a tad less cloud-like then you can snag a replacement insole. I didn’t know they sold these until I was writing this post for you all, but how genius? I’m going to order some for my older pairs.
I am not a huge fan of hotel floors and I don’t really like to be barefooted on the carpet so I usually try to throw in my slippers if I have room in my suitcase. But since I was packing these mini Uggs already I just used them for the same purpose. I threw them on when we sat around and had a glass of wine in the room after arriving Friday night and I also wore them after I got out of the shower in the mornings when I was putting on make up and curling my hair.
A few side notes about the rest of my outfit too:
BEANIE I am obsessed with the texture & the large size of the pom-pom on top! Plus it’s a steal at under $30. Comes in other colors too.
PONCHO I had been searching for a good poncho and I love that this one is long enough to throw on with leggings.
TEE I am SO happy I found this long sleeve tee. It’s the perfect length. Everyone should have a white and black in their closet–especially since they’re under $20. [wearing a small]
JEANS My faves. If you don’t have black jeans… GET SOME! [wearing a size 25]
SUNGLASSES I have been wearing these Quay High Key sunglasses non-stop. I love that they are over-sized!
