It was New Year’s Day yesterday so in true celebratory fashion I figured I needed a yum Bloody Mary and some eggs benny. Brunch? Yes, please! Don’t worry we did all share a side of black eye peas too! They are said to bring good luck if eaten on the first day of the year. Did you all have any??

We met Ethan’s fam to eat and snapped these right before we headed inside. I just got this skirt in && I couldn’t love it more. I have always been a fan of an a-line mini skirt (I think they are flattering) and when I saw that this one was velvet AND studded I was sold!

Black on Black

Oh the Christmas crazy is over. I know most people are totally over the holidays by this point in the year but I have to be honest–I’m a little sad. I loved having time to do nothing but spend time with family, go out to yummy dinners, drink wine, open presents and lounge around in sweats. But then again, who doesn’t right?! I am excited to have NYE right around the corner and start a new year soon though!

We shot this black on black look last weekend (when in doubt go for black, right?) and I have worn this sweater a couple times since. It’s a good one! Just be sure to size up. I think it runs really small. I ordered a medium because I wanted it to be super slouchy and over-sized and it’s a lot more fitted than I expected. That being said–I still love the simplicity of it. I might snag another color too because the price is hard to beat!

I am loving the pop of white against this all black look with these earrings. They are light weight and how fun is the shape?? I always think BaubleBar has the best statement earrings. Plus, these make an outfit look put together even if it isn’t. Just throw your hair in a ponytail and pop these on!

Ok… so now all we have to do is get through the week and then we have something else to celebrate! I am definitely looking forward to popping some champs this coming weekend!

The perfect sweater dress & statement earrings for the holidays!

Happy Monday all! The weeks seem easier knowing we have the holidays right ahead of us, don’t they?? We spent this past Saturday dressed in tacky Christmas gear with our friends at Santacon so I feel like we got a jump start on the festivities. There was even a reindog parade! Did you catch all the dogs dressed up in costumes on my snapchat?! So. Cute.

So now I’m ready for some holiday style that doesn’t involve sparkly deer sunglasses from Walmart. (Although they were fun to wear last weekend, ha) && I thought I would share an outfit idea that I would actually wear time and time again. Sometimes I get all caught up in super festive, dressy outfits when I think holiday and I forget that I don’t really have that many occassions to wear them. My family get togethers are always casual so I wanted to find an outfit to share with you all that included a great basic. This sweater dress is just that, let me tell you! It’s such an easy wear, under $60 and comes in other colors too. I know it’s one I will get a lot of wear out of because I had been on the hunt for a good black one for months.

I paired mine with my favorite over-the-knee boots from Marc Fischer and you could easily add tights if it was extra chilly!

I haven’t been wearing as much jewelry lately as I used to. I usually stick to small pieces like these rings but I have been in the mood to throw some statement earrings in the mix. When I was searching around I found these Vanessa Mooney cuties from Nordstrom and I knew I had to order!

The fact that these aren’t heavy (I find that most large earrings are) and that they come in burgundy totally sold me. They would also be perfect for New Year’s! I plan to wear mine with my hair up in a ponytail and a sweater soon too. They would make a great gift too because there are lots of colors to choose from. I hope you all had a great weekend full of time with family and friends! The weekend after Thanksgiving is always so exciting because instead of getting into an after holiday slump, we get to start ramping up for another. I am in full on Christmas mode now. In fact, my mom and I spent the weekend sending shopping links back and forth on items we have been buying as gifts. && I plan on doing some major damage today while all the Cyber Monday sales are going on! More on that below.. but first we’ve got to talk about this ahh-maze holiday dress.

What’s more fun than having a new little something, something to wear to a holiday party?! As soon as I found this Free People dress I knew I had to have it. I love the idea of wearing lace this year to a festive event and the cut and touch of sequin on this one sold me. [wearing a size 0]

Thanksgiving Day Outfit

I’m all posted up on the couch with a seriously full belly working on an exciting post that I cannot wait to share with you all tomorrow am! It may be a really late night… [hint, hint: there’s an exciting GIVEAWAY involved that you wont want to miss]

I wasn’t planning on making this outfit into a blog post tonight but after I fell in LOVE with this sweater today I kinda figured I had to! We do two Thanksgivings (one with my fam and one with Ethans) and this was seriously the most comfy outfit. And these boots have become my go-to. I’ve already worn them SO much. If you don’t have a pair of flat OTK boots then I definitely suggest them! [Sweater: wearing a small/medium] [Boots: TTS]
