A little Plaid for the Holidays

dsc_1286dsc_1344

Sweater || Skirt|| Boots || Handbag || Sunglasses || Coat

As soon as I saw this skirt I knew I had to order!  I love the idea of having a classic paid in your outfit especially if you keep it trendy with the cut and fit.  Plus, this skirt immediately took me back to the Cher days in Clueless! [Anyone else know every word of that movie??]  I think I have to be on the hunt for a pleated one next!

I decided to pair this skirt with this blush colored textured sweater because I think it would be a good option for Thanksgiving.  && bonus, it will look really cute with jeans and boots after the holiday is over too! If you’re looking for a bold look you could also throw on a bright green or red sweater with this skirt for a Christmas get-together option.  You know me–I’d probably opt for this black option. 😉 [Sweater: wearing the size option listed as 4 US (fits like a 0-2) and Skirt: wearing a size 0]

And this coat and these boots are wayyyy to good to pass up mentioning. My coat is a complete steal.  Would you believe me if I told you it was on sale for under $40?  Crazy, right?  Yep.  I ordered this right before a trip to NYC last February and I have loved the length of it and the large collar ever since. [wearing a small and I have plenty of room for a sweater underneath] My boots are new and I love how the toe is a little on the pointy side instead of round.  It helps to enlongte your leg since they are a flat pair.  They’re really good quality too considering they are a dupe for a pair that retails over $700.  Marc Fisher has quickly become a go to brand for me when it comes to shoes and these Yenna Over the Knee boots are no exception!  If you already have a black pair that you love then think about getting them in the tan color.  I have a pair of OTK boots in a similar color and I am surprised at how often I wear them.  [I sized up in these so I could add jeans and thick socks, wearing an 8]

Cheers to Hump Day!

Suede & Baubles

Sweater [super cute option here too] || Shorts || Boots [on sale!] || Bauble Bar Necklace || Sunglasses

Anytime I can pair tall boots with dresses and skirts (or even shorts, like in this case!) and skip the tights then I am a happy camper.  We’ve had some crazy warm Fall weather here so I’ve had some chances to wear outfits like this and in turn I’ve gotten lots of wear out of these suede boots.  [ps, they’re on sale right now]  I love how mine pair with black and denim.  Color is Bark Suede and they are true to size.  If you don’t already have a pair then I suggest you add some to your closet.  Here are a few other options for you all to shop too:

I am totally crushing over this statement necklace.  It’s the perfect way to add some spice to an outfit and it goes with everything! I love it paired with a simple stripe tee and jeans too.

dsc_0641dsc_0593dsc_0670This sweater is sold out right now in the cream color I am wearing but it is still available in two other colors AND the good news is that this top is so similar and I am OBSESSED with it too!

Oh my goodness–I am so excited to be writing this!  Doing something with fashion has always been a dream of mine and I have wanted to make that a reality by creating a blog for some time now.  I am thrilled that it has come to life!  I started showing my daily outfits on my Instagram a while back (which I still plan to do) and Weekend Wishing will be an extension of that.  I want to share tid bits of my life and oodles of outfits with you all in the future and I hope that you will follow along!

I don’t know what type of person I would be if I kicked off this journey without some huge thank you’s too.  Thank you all for caring enough about my outfits to follow along on Instagram.  That may seem silly to some but to me it’s nothing of the sort–without your encouragement I wouldn’t be able to be posting this now!  Thank you to my friends and family for letting me chat about the blog time and time again and for urging me to do this.  And most importantly thank you to my boyfriend, Ethan.  He’s the best.  He’s already spent lots of time behind the camera lens for me and plenty of nights in my closet/office (tour of that coming soon!) at the computer rather than on the couch watching football.  So, in short–I’m really grateful for you all!

Ok, and just one last thing before we get on to the clothes!  🙂  You wouldn’t be viewing this website right now if it weren’t for Rebecca Redding.  Working with a graphic designer and photographer who is not only very talented but also understands your vision is a blessing.

So–this outfit above..  I knew I wanted my first outfit post to be a skirt and top.  These are my favorite items to buy because I think they lead to so many options.  Don’t get me wrong–I love a cute dress, but with a skirt and top you can always mix them into other outfits.  For example, this chunky grey sweater is going to have a totally different vibe when I pair it with dark denim, a plaid scarf, and a casual tote next.  I am so into leather this season and when I found this little mini I knew I had to have it.  I love the texture and the price point is good– it’s not a closet staple piece so it wont break the bank!  If you order, I would size up one.  And last but not least, these over-the-knee boots are my one of my very favorite items I’ve ordered in a while!  They have the cutest gold zippers on the inside and back, have a great heel height, and are actually really comfy.  They’re on sale too!  I think this outfit would be great for date night with your guy or for cocktails with your girlfriends–and let’s be honest, we all need those kinda nights!
