Neutral Sweater Lovin!

Holy Moly!  Finally Fridayyyyy! This week was a doozy & I have to be honest–I am glad it’s the weekend again.  January is hard, right?  After the holidays are over and the Winter blues set in, it’s easy to feel like you are sick of everything in your closet. But, I will tell you what helps me.. good neutrals to wear.  I remember that was what got me through last Winter.  Stick to some good, neutral basics.  It may sound boring but I have found that sometimes that makes me happier than trying to do too much.

This sweater is just that!  It’s my favorite color–I can’t pass up a good grey–and the sleeves are just the cutest!  Obsessed with the bell sleeves lately.  ps, it also comes in black and I think that one would be perfect with a ponytail and some statement earrings.

It can be worn for a weekend date night with black denim or a mini skirt and OTK boots or toned down with dress pants and flats during the week for work.  Super versatile! [wearing a small]

&& I know I am a repeat offender with this jacket BUT I seriously love it.  [wearing an xs]

Here are a few other options that I’m loving at the moment.  They are all neutral and would also be easy to mix into several outfits.

I learned this time last year that February is the best time to snag some cashmere pieces.  I got a cream scarf and a grey wrap last year that I have used SO much this year.  So that will be the next thing I am on the lookout for.  I’ll keep you all posted in case you are in the market too.

Cheers, babes!

It was New Year’s Day yesterday so in true celebratory fashion I figured I needed a yum Bloody Mary and some eggs benny.  Brunch?  Yes, please!  Don’t worry we did all share a side of black eye peas too!  They are said to bring good luck if eaten on the first day of the year.  Did you all have any??

We met Ethan’s fam to eat and snapped these right before we headed inside.  I just got this skirt in && I couldn’t love it more.  I have always been a fan of an a-line mini skirt (I think they are flattering) and when I saw that this one was velvet AND studded I was sold!

Bonus: It’s also on sale right now–only $25.  How crazy?  [wearing a 0]

Also, you don’t want to skip out on these boots.  I have worn them wayyyy more than I thought I would and it seems like every time I do I get compliments on them!  They are fully in stock here & will ship for free.  I also found these sunnies back in stock on the same site!

I hope you all had a great New Year’s Day and got to be a little lazy at home!  I definitely took a nap that afternoon and it was amaze!

As soon as I saw this skirt I knew I had to order!  I love the idea of having a classic paid in your outfit especially if you keep it trendy with the cut and fit.  Plus, this skirt immediately took me back to the Cher days in Clueless! [Anyone else know every word of that movie??]  I think I have to be on the hunt for a pleated one next!

I decided to pair this skirt with this blush colored textured sweater because I think it would be a good option for Thanksgiving.  && bonus, it will look really cute with jeans and boots after the holiday is over too! If you’re looking for a bold look you could also throw on a bright green or red sweater with this skirt for a Christmas get-together option.  You know me–I’d probably opt for this black option. 😉 [Sweater: wearing the size option listed as 4 US (fits like a 0-2) and Skirt: wearing a size 0]

And this coat and these boots are wayyyy to good to pass up mentioning. My coat is a complete steal.  Would you believe me if I told you it was on sale for under $40?  Crazy, right?  Yep.  I ordered this right before a trip to NYC last February and I have loved the length of it and the large collar ever since. [wearing a small and I have plenty of room for a sweater underneath] My boots are new and I love how the toe is a little on the pointy side instead of round.  It helps to enlongte your leg since they are a flat pair.  They’re really good quality too considering they are a dupe for a pair that retails over $700.  Marc Fisher has quickly become a go to brand for me when it comes to shoes and these Yenna Over the Knee boots are no exception!  If you already have a black pair that you love then think about getting them in the tan color.  I have a pair of OTK boots in a similar color and I am surprised at how often I wear them.  [I sized up in these so I could add jeans and thick socks, wearing an 8]

Cheers to Hump Day!

I know I’ll be wearing this jacket non-stop this Fall & Winter [most likely with jeans and a casual tee] but I have fallen so in love with it so I want to use it as a transition item too.  I love the mix of suede and crochet here (texture upon texture, ahhhh!) and I also love the color of the jacket paired with white.  It’s a winner for date night when there might be a bit of a chill in the air.  Side Note: The color I have in mine is called Midnight Toker and the one I linked here is called Coffee Bean.  They look pretty much identical to me (my exact color is sold out) but I was so excited to find the same jacket in stock in all sizes for you all!  I know it has been SUPERRR popular this month–selling like hot cakes! And can we talk about these booties?  I have quickly fallen head over heels for them!  They’re perfect because they are a neutral shoe but they have some added flare with the color, fringe & silver zipper.  I got mine in the color Olive Suede.  You’ll be surprised how many times a peep-toe bootie will fit into your wardrobe over the next few months too!

Hope your week is off to a good start!  I can’t lie–I am oh so happy to have a short one ahead of me!  I can’t wait to head to Asheville!

31 Bits Necklace || Urban Outfitters Necklace || Marc Fisher Sueann Platforms [30% off]

I can’t get enough of these suede platforms this year–that’s no secret because I have been wearing them tons.  Sorry!  They’re on sale right now though for 30% off so if you’re looking for a suede pair that’s easy to walk in then now is the time!  They also come in two other colors and I think the black suede is so cute.  I also wear this top like once a week (oops).  It’s such a good basic to have!  There’s 8 other colors to pick from and it’s only $34.

My necklace is from 31 Bits and it is such a special company.  All their pieces are made from recycled paper by women in Uganda.  Be careful because once you read the history of how this company started and what their mission is you will want to buy every piece on the site.  And it gets even better–by giving these ladies the opportunity to make jewelry they are not only helping them rise above poverty.  They have created an entire 5 year program of benefits so their lives can truly be turned around.  Pretty amaze, right?
