Red Heels

Top || Jeans || Heels || Earrings, similar || Necklace || Handbag

I think it’s always good idea to buy a couple of fun tops each Summer.  Ones that you can wear with jeans and heels on a night out or with jean shorts and flip flops for a day time lunch.  This little red number certainly fits that bill!  I have worn it too many times to count in the past few weeks.  I love that it’s a bold color, is one shoulder, and has the cutest ruffle detailing. [wearing a small]

&& I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I am loving these heels!  A classic style–but this color helps them make a statement.  They also come in neutral options and would be a great shoe to have for weddings and cocktail events. [runs true to size]

I wore this outfit when we went out for mexican and margs with friends in NYC.  We sat outside at the Cascabel Taqueria on the Upper East Side and had the best night.  Try it out if you are looking for a casual place!  We snapped these photos on the balcony of our room before we headed out.  We stayed at The Viceroy Central Park for this trip and I would recommend it!  The location was great–close to several different areas of the city, the decor was chic–white black and brushed gold and the rooftop bar is a dream–nice view of the park and a great atmosphere.

Hope you all had a great weekend!  Ours flew by, per usual but it was a good one none the less!

Summer Nights by the Water

Sweater [MAJOR sale!]|| Jeans [sized up two for this fit] || Cami [sale!] || Sandals , similar || Sunglasses || Necklace

I love a good warm day spent in the sun, but I also LOVE a good summer night.  After the temperature drops a little and you can sit around in a lightweight sweater and sip wine…that’s the best!

This is the perfect outfit for that!  You all HAVE to grab this sweater. I wore it last week in the evening–we took a pizza and some wine down for a  boat ride to celebrate my dad’s birthday–and I have worn it twice already to work since.  So handy!   I layered this casual tank under during the day and this cami under it at night. [wearing a small & it gives an oversized and slouchy fit]

Oh, and I definitely have to mention these pearl sandals.  They’re new and I am in love.  I was obsessed with the Chanel pearl slides when I saw them but I knew they were out of my price range, so I was about to buy these.  But, then I found the ones that I am wearing here and decided to give them a try first.  Honestly, I expected the quality to be poor but it’s surprisingly great!  I’ve already worn them a bunch and get compliments on them every time.  [Be sure to size up one]

With this week being split up by the 4th, we’re trying to squeeze a few things around the house before the weekend hits again.  So it’s laundry and organizing time around here!  Fun right, haha?  I am switching up my closet/office room a bit so I actually am excited about that.  Stay tuned because I will share the finished results… & in the meantime, you can see the closet video tour we did a while back here.  It’s going to change quite a bit and I can’t wait!

HAPPY FRIYAY EVE! Muah!

4th of July Outfit Inspiration

Since we just had the first official weekend of Summer [yayyy],  I figure we can celebrate with this outfit I wore to brunch when we were in NYC because this white ruffle top and these red earrings would be the perfect combo for the 4th of July!

I have already worn this top too many times to count.  I love the way the crisp white pairs with a tan (real or faux like mine, haha) and the one shoulder makes it just a tad different.  You could pair it with navy or denim and it would be perfect for the holiday.  Shorts or a skirt in either one would be so cute.

Since sizes are limited in my top, I found two very similar options!  Shop them here (on major sale) and here (comes in lots of colors too).

These earrings are the perfect way to add a fun pop to your outfit.  They weigh practically nothing which is KEY when looking for a big earring!  They can be worn with a dressy or casual outfit (even a bathing suit!) so they will pair well with whatever plans you have in store.  BONUS: They come with free 2-day shipping so they will arrive in time!  If you’re looking for a slightly smaller pair then you could give these a try!

A couple more fun items that would be great to work into your 4th of July weekend:

At first I was bummed about the 4th being on a Tuesday.  I will have to work on Monday and Wednesday so…that kinda stinks.  But, I’ve decided to look at the bright side this week.  After all, it is still a holiday.  And I have a strict policy about celebrating any and all holidays!  Why not?!  Plus, it will be a nice way to break up the M-F week!

Oh, and ps–I sized up two sizes in these jeans to get this fit.  They are my very favorite pair right now too.  LOVE!

Weekending in Levi’s

This past Sunday was such a good one so I just have to give you all a run down.  After I finish, you may be asking–ok, why did she feel the need to share that, but bear with me.

We woke up to a rainy, dreary morning and somehow (at the last second) we managed to pull ourselves out of bed just in time to scoot into a spinning class.  We hardly ever, ever workout on a Sunday so afterwards it felt SO good.  Then we headed to grab lattes at our fave coffee shop and then headed back home to clean up.  We ventured back out for lunch [mine consisted of a quesadilla and bloody mary, yum] and then I managed to drag Ethan to do some shopping for the lake house at Home Goods and At Home.  Once our car was totally packed with stuff (did you see our Instastory with the mirror that just barely fit, haha?!) we headed home where I almost immediately fell asleep for a cat nap.  Ethan went to take Remi over to the dog park to run for a bit but they were stopped by a bunch of crazy rain.  Soooo, then they showed back up a bit later with pizza, coke and the idea of a movie night!  We did (what felt like) a zillion loads of laundry, organized the house for a while and then settled in on the couch to watch a Netflix movie.

&& that’s it!  Nothing more special happened and all in all it was just a day of crappy weather in our home city.  BUT it made me so happy.  Sometimes it’s important to let the normal, average, everyday moments make you happy, right?!  I am always one to be planning out things for the next weekend or wishing for a new trip to dream about but I always want to be able to be content with the less exciting moments too.  It’s important to not take any those for granted.  After all, it’s the little things, right?!

Ok–and let’s just discuss the key points you have to know about this outfit for two seconds too..  These jeans are a weekenders DREAM.  I have been searching for a pair just like this for months so I can really thankful I gave these a try.  Howeverrrrrr–take note:  I sized up 2 sizes from my norm to get this fit.  I paired them with a neutral tank and metallic slides.  The tank is only $22 and has such a soft finish on it, almost a sheen. And the slides are under $50, comfy and will go with lots!  [wearing a xs and 7.5, both tts] Lastly, these are the necklaces I am completely obsessing over at the moment.  I ordered this one, fell in love and then immediately ordered this one to layer with it.  Aren’t they fun?!

Ankle Strap Heels

I can’t believe it’s April already, but I am really excited!  I feel like everyone has so many different events coming up soon.  We have an out of town wedding to go to next weekend and the weekend after we will be at Keeneland and out with friends and the weekend following that I will be in Dallas for the RewardStyle Conference.  And I know I am not the only one who has a full calendar–sooo, that got me thinking about shoes.  I am not a gal who wears heels during the week (gimmie me all the comfy ones M-F) but some of these upcoming events require them.  So what’s my go-to style?  An ankle strap sandal.

They are minimal, understated and sleek.  Because of this, they pair well with soooo many different outfits and work for soooo many different occasions.

This pair has been on heavy rotation since I bought them last Fall.  I wear them with jeans, dresses and skirts.  I cannot believe I have not been back for another pair yet either. They come in oodles of other options & are under $90!  [runs tts]

I know several people have and love these too.  They are really similar and come in some different color options so I think they would be a great pick too!

ps, this slip dress is one that you need.  It’s such an easy one to throw on and packs really well because of the material.  I would definitely wear it with sneakers too!  [runs big, wearing a xxs]

These are my most recent sandal purchase and I am loving them because they are a bit more edgy.  I paired them with some new Levi’s [size up!] and a black bodysuit for an easy weekend look and I cannot wait to wear them with a mini dress too!  They’re also under $90 and come in three other neutral colors too.  [runs tts]

I should also say that I have these and I also LOVE them.  Since they were a splurge, I wear them more for special occasions but I definitely recommend them as well.  I cannot wait to add the black to my closet too one day.

&& if you’re not in the market to invest in a pair then these are a GREAT alternative to the Stuart Weitzman pair!  They are just as classic and easy to dress up or down.

Also great–these!  Very similar, but I think the placement of the strap on the side of the foot makes them a bit more dressy.  They would be perfect with a cocktail dress.

Side Note:  I think clear sandals are going to be a big trend in the upcoming seasons & I am ready to jump on board!  I keep seeing them pop up here and there and I’m obsessed.  I just ordered these and I cannot wait to get them in.

I will add some of my other favorites from Nordstrom below for you all too.  I really enjoyed scrolling through and picking these out!

What kinds of events do you all have coming up?!  Anything fun on the calendar that you are counting down the days to??
