Neutral Sweater Lovin!

Holy Moly! Finally Fridayyyyy! This week was a doozy & I have to be honest–I am glad it’s the weekend again. January is hard, right? After the holidays are over and the Winter blues set in, it’s easy to feel like you are sick of everything in your closet. But, I will tell you what helps me.. good neutrals to wear. I remember that was what got me through last Winter. Stick to some good, neutral basics. It may sound boring but I have found that sometimes that makes me happier than trying to do too much.

This sweater is just that! It’s my favorite color–I can’t pass up a good grey–and the sleeves are just the cutest! Obsessed with the bell sleeves lately. ps, it also comes in black and I think that one would be perfect with a ponytail and some statement earrings.

It can be worn for a weekend date night with black denim or a mini skirt and OTK boots or toned down with dress pants and flats during the week for work. Super versatile! [wearing a small]

&& I know I am a repeat offender with this jacket BUT I seriously love it. [wearing an xs]

Here are a few other options that I’m loving at the moment. They are all neutral and would also be easy to mix into several outfits.

I learned this time last year that February is the best time to snag some cashmere pieces. I got a cream scarf and a grey wrap last year that I have used SO much this year. So that will be the next thing I am on the lookout for. I’ll keep you all posted in case you are in the market too.

I feel like we have been fighting a battle with Mother Nature for weeks now! It seems like every time Ethan and I have a day scheduled to go shoot photos it rains or it snows and we end up with a car full of outfits left on hangers. However, I do have to say–it was SO nice to have a Saturday afternoon to be lazy. It POURED down rain here all day so I brought my bedding in the living room and cuddled up on the couch and binge watched “Divorce”. Just like a million other girls, I have been a loyal SJP fan for as long as I can remember so I left like I had to watch. Have you all seen it?

But, I was super excited to be able to squeeze in some outfit pics between the drizzle on Sunday. First up on the list to share with you all had to be this new coat–I’m obsessed! I think it’s perfect for this time of year. It’s super light weight but yet still warm so it’s a great transitional item to have in your closet. The material is so soft and almost butter like && it comes in two other color options. [wearing an xs]

Good Vibes

So lately I have really had a thing for sweatshirts. That’s not typically my style but I feel like there are just too many cute ones out there right now to pass up. && I am just really, really into casual pieces at the moment. Perfect for chilly, grey weather–which is what we’ve been having here.

Plus, what’s better than a sweatshirt that actually says ‘good vibes’?! I think that pretty much means you will have a better day just by throwing it on. It’s a soft one too! [wearing a small]

If you don’t have a pair of white sneaks yet then get on that. You will wear them tons! [wearing a size 6 1/2 in mine, be sure to size down at least one full size]

I found a really cute alternative to my Givenchy bag I have been carrying non-stop! Both this one and this one are so similar in size and shape and so, so much more affordable!

I have yet to get solid goals written down for 2017, but I am definitely tackling that ASAP. I have so many things I would like to do for Weekend Wishing this year floating around in my head and I am really, really excited about all of them but I also feel like if I don’t actually take the time to write them down then they will get overlooked. So, that is on the agenda for sure. And I know there are some weak areas that I need to improve on. I want to write those down too so I can tackle them as well. Have you all made any resolutions yet?

Sunday Uniform

This easy outfit was perfect for this afternoon–we met my fam for some deep dish pizza, yummm! It doesn’t get any more “weekend” in my book than this. Leggings, a cozy sweater & a warm coat!

I’ve seriously had this Bernardo coat on since it came out of the box ha! && these leggings by Zella are worth grabbing.. promise! They are high-waited and the details make them stand out a little. [wearing an xs] Then I added a bit of trend to the look with these Steve Madden velvet sneakers [wearing my normal size, but I wish I had sized up a 1/2] , this Urban Outfitters satin hat [on sale!] and these Quay over-sized glasses [under $45]!

A Puffy Coat That’s Packable!

I had been on the hunt for a long coat like this for a while & I am SO glad I found this one! It checks all the requirement boxes that I had in my mind. It’s down so it’s super warm. It’s packable–even comes with a little pouch that you can fold it down and stuff it into for travel. It’s got a ribbed knit cuffs at the end of the sleeve to keep the cool air out. It’s got a high collar (which I love). It’s really soft to the touch, kind of buttery! && it’s on SALE right now and comes in petite sizes. Done & Done! [wearing an xs]

I also love it in the color they call soil/black. If I already had a black casual coat then I would have gone for that one.

This is the first time I have purchased from brand. It’s called Bernardo and I was super impressed with the quality at this price point. I also love how they keep in mind the sillhoutte. Some puffy coats can seem like a big pillow case on, but this one has front and back darts at the waist.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention this sweater–it’s PERFECT! So soft and the length is great. [wearing a 4 US Fits like a 0-2]

These Quay Sunglasses are new too and they’re on sale right now! Snag them while they are still in stock. I’m ordering the other color today because I love how oversized they are.

We’re up in Cincinnatti today for the Santa-con celebration! We snapped these pics as we got coffee this morning becuase we came up early to get a little work done before a day with friends.
