A Couple of Wear Now Items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale #nsale

You all–I am not going to lie.  This post has to be a quickie because I am beyond tired… but I just had to share this outfit with you.  I’m pretty in love with it!

This weekend was a fun one we had a nice dinner on the patio on Friday night–bruschetta and wine at Portofinos, which is hands down our favorite dinner spot in Lexington.  && we spent Saturday night in Louisville celebrating my college roomies 30th birthday.  It was SUCH a fun night.  I forgot to snap a pic but you can see what I wore below.  My dress is on sale for under $30 and comes in several other colors too!  I spiced mine up a little by adding black heels and my new belt. [wearing an xs in the dress]

That dress was a part of an order I placed from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale last week for items that I can wear now.  I wanted a few things that I didn’t have to wait for Fall to pull out.  The white top in these photos was one of the other items I got.  I love the texture on it and the built in choker.  It also comes in blush.  [wearing a M for an loose fit and deeper v neck]

I wore this on Sunday night to meet Ethan’s fam for dinner and it won’t be the last time this combo makes an appearance.  I can’t get enough of these sunnies [so affordable too], these rings make me REALLY happy, and these mules have gotten so much more wear than I imagined they would.

And I cannot say enough good about these shorts.  They are the peeeeerfect wash, I love the high rise & the length spot on.  HIGHLY recommend.  This was my first purchase from this brand and I am already wanting to make another denim purchase.  I am hooked! [I sized up and probably could have gotten my normal if I wanted a closer fit]

Hope you week is off to a good start!

Coffee Dates in Savannah

We were in Savannah a couple weekends ago and snapped these photos while wandering through Forsyth Park.  I will do a full Travel Diary recap of our trip soon, but in the meantime I wanted to share these with you all.

This is the thing I probably look forward to most about traveling–getting up and grabbing coffee and wandering around.

I usually get about half ready (some dry shampoo in my hair but don’t touch up my curls, some powder foundation and eyebrow pencil but don’t fool with the eye makeup) so I feel presentable but haven’t taken forever to get out the door.  Plus, I find getting ready in stages while on vacation helps so you don’t feel like you’ve wasted too long in front of the mirror.

&& I am always sure to pack something comfy to wear, aside from what I brought to sleep in and travel in.  Cue this SUPER soft crewneck.  You need it.  Need it! [wearing a small]

There’s just something about knowing that you’ve got a whole day ahead of you when you’re on a trip that is impossible to beat.  Combine that with a coffee buzz and I am one HAPPY camper.  I try to always make an effort to live in the moment during this time.  It sets the tone for the whole day!

What part of vacation & travel do you look forward to the most?

PS–stay tuned for a fun giveaway on the blog tomorrow!

Studded Sandals for Spring

First and foremost–HAPPY Friday! We made it to the weekend you all!  Deep breath–or at least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😉

Ok, & on to the fun stuff–let’s talk shoes.  Specifically let’s talk studded shoes.  The silver studded accent trend is giving me LIFE.  It’s probably my favorite trend for Spring right now!  I am loving the silver contrast on the black options and also equally love it paired on top of the white and nude versions.  I think it is the perfect way to add a little edge to your look, yet it is subtle enough to pair with shorts and dresses!

I have a feeling I will be going back for more, but these slides were my first purchase and I cannot say enough good things about them.  I wanted a white pair that crossed over in an x and when I saw these at under $100 I was sold.  I love a good wedge and I love a good heel–don’t get me wrong–but in reality I end up wearing my flats more often.  Especially once shorts season is upon us.  So these seemed like a good purchase & I am impressed with the quality.  [these run tts]

I am also dying for this pair in the sand color.  That block heel looks perrrrrfect.  I added a few more of my favorites from Nordstrom down below for you all to browse too.

The search for the right denim short can be oh so hard, right?!  Well, I just got these in and I am so happy with them.  Such a cute lighter, distressed option that is high-waisted and not super, super short.  && bonus–they are only $55.   How cute is that back pocket?  Or lack there of, actually! Ha!  [run tts, I did not size up in these and I often do for denim shorts]

My bag is such an affordable option and I am obsessed with the silver chain!  It comes in three other colors too so snag one for Spring! [under $70]

&& this top is a yes, yes, yes in my book.  I love a good basic that I can reach for time and time again and I was in need of a good v-neck option rather than a strappy cami.  If you are in the same boat, then this one is for you!  It would be the perfect top for work to layer a cardigan or jacket over and comes in oodles of color options. Also available in petite.  [wearing an xs]

STUDDED CUTIES!  Just click on any to shop my favorites.

Hope you all have a good weekend!  Muah!

Spring Break Wear

Trips to the beach in the Spring are good for the soul.  Everyone gets the itch to be somewhere bright after the boring Winter months and I think a little warm weather getaway always helps–whether that be packing up for a full week away for Spring Break or just a quickie long weekend!  But I have honestly always found them a little hard to shop for.  You’re anxious to jump into Summer clothes but you know there will be windy days and chilly nights.

My suggestion?  Add some items like this little white number to your cart.  Something that is a light weight fabric but still provides some coverage.  That way you can throw it on over your bathing suit if you’re heading to grab coffee in the morning before hitting the pool and you can also dress it up a bit by wearing it with jeans and a statement earring to dinner one night.  The off the shoulder style will still let you show off your tan!  I styled it above with jean shorts, wedges & a hat (which is another option) and I think this look would be perfect if you had a day where you were going out for lunch and shopping.

The top and shorts are both Free People.  They are my go-to for casual pieces.  I wear their items all year long, but I always think they step up their game in the Spring.   Here are a few of my other favorites that are carried at Nordstrom:

I sized up one in both the top and the shorts.  However–I don’t think you need to.  The items don’t run small; I would have been fine getting my normal size in each.  I just wanted a slouchy fit in the top and I wanted a less fitted pair of denim shorts that hung on my hips a bit more.

I hope there’s something good about your Monday!  Even if it’s something small!

Friday Eve, y’all! I’m so glad we’re finally on the downhill slope this week–it’s seemed like a long one to me!  But the weekend is right around the corner now and I am hoping the weather is nice because we are planning to squeeze a bit of time in at the lake and have a fun Olympic themed event with friends to go to as well.  [More on that later!]  This outfit is my go-to for a Saturday morning coffee run and all the details are linked below.  I love this top and this one is so similar and even a little cuter in my book because of the length.  I know I’ll be throwing this top on with leggings and tennies (& maybe even a leather jacket) soon as temperatures get cooler.
