If I am being 100% honest, my favorite leggings are the wonder under style from lululemon. I have them in the crop and the 7/8, they’re that good. HOWEVER, these Zella leggings are definitely my 2nd faves. They have so many good qualities!
super high waisted–very flattering and perfect for crop tops too
excellent material–they are thick (so you can’t see through them) but breathable
durable–I wash and dry mine a couple of times each week (it’s nice to not have to hang them to dry, I just throw mine in the dryer!)
they run tts–I am wearing an xs
they’re versatile–I wear mine to actually workout but I also feel like they are a pair that can be worn to run errands or with tall boots and sweaters in the fall/winter
If you live in leggings like I do then give these a try! They are on sale for only today & tomorrow! fyi, they are long on me so I fold the bottom up.
Ok, time for a little fun in the sun at the lake. We’re in the car headed that way now–which is why I have to wrap this up before we hit the curvy roads haha! Hope you all are having a great weekend!
I know that so many of the clothing items and shoes sold out insanely fast from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year. && several haven’t been restocked yet. Sad face. But…the bright side? There’s plenty of goodies for the home to shop too!
I’ve been feeling really grateful for these long summer days recently. && even though our nights and weekends seem really busy (as they do to everyone I’m sure) the extra daylight always helps. I think that’s a big reason why I always feel like doing more things in the summertime–opposed to going home and curling up in my pjs like I tend to do in the winter haha. So I figured I would share some fun date ideas! None of these are ground breaking ideas but they are all casual, realistic, inexpensive & things that would put me in a happy mood!
1:FARMERS MARKET STROLL & BRUNCH— I love this idea because it’s something you can do after a Saturday morning workout. Buy some fresh flowers to take home (I kind of fell in love with these sun flowers for warm days) and then find somewhere to grab food at an outside table!
2: MIDWEEK MOVIE NIGHT— I love going to the movies on a week night! It’s the perfect way to break up the week. We like to catch a 7:30-8:30 showing. That way we can still get in a workout & dinner after work. It feels good to disconnect for a couple of hours and then go home and hop in bed. We always pick a theater where we can get a glass of wine while watching too!
3: COFFEE SHOP SITTING— On Saturday/Sunday mornings we love to go to our favorite coffee shop and get our lattes for here instead of to-go. It’s so nice to just sit down and have a coffee instead of rushing out the door with it. We people watch or look at silly videos on our phone and just take some time to remember it’s the weekend.
4: NETFLIX & CHILL WITH A DOCUMENTARY— There are so many good options out there that aren’t a tv series or movie. We love to switch things up with a documentary. Our favorites recently have been The Defiant Ones (it’s actually on HBO), Making a Murderer & The Queen of Versailles.
5: NEIGHBOORHOOD STROLL AT DUSK— Taking the dog for a walk after dinner is one of my favorite things to do. I always feel better if I move around after I eat and it can be so relaxing. We ususlly talk about all the different houses we pass, pointing out things we like or don’t like and sometimes we have a little glass of wine in hand too!
Let me know if you all enjoy any of these same things! We find that simple date nights are often best!
&& I do want to share a little about my jewelry in these photos with you all too! I have been a long time fan of Margaret Elizabeth. Their pieces have a 24k gold overlay and the most gorgeous precious stones. I think I love the brand so much because the pieces are unique AND high quality. I wear mine with anything from jeans and a v-neck tee to a lace dress and heels. The newest addition to their collection? This three stone Bixby bangle. I am LOVING mine.
If you place a ME jewelry order be sure to use my code for a discount. It’s ‘WEEKENDWISHING’ and will give you 20% off your entire order!
You all–I am not going to lie. This post has to be a quickie because I am beyond tired… but I just had to share this outfit with you. I’m pretty in love with it!
This weekend was a fun one we had a nice dinner on the patio on Friday night–bruschetta and wine at Portofinos, which is hands down our favorite dinner spot in Lexington. && we spent Saturday night in Louisville celebrating my college roomies 30th birthday. It was SUCH a fun night. I forgot to snap a pic but you can see what I wore below. My dress is on sale for under $30 and comes in several other colors too! I spiced mine up a little by adding black heels and my new belt. [wearing an xs in the dress]
That dress was a part of an order I placed from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale last week for items that I can wear now. I wanted a few things that I didn’t have to wait for Fall to pull out. The white top in these photos was one of the other items I got. I love the texture on it and the built in choker. It also comes in blush. [wearing a M for an loose fit and deeper v neck]
I wore this on Sunday night to meet Ethan’s fam for dinner and it won’t be the last time this combo makes an appearance. I can’t get enough of these sunnies [so affordable too], these rings make me REALLY happy, and these mules have gotten so much more wear than I imagined they would.
And I cannot say enough good about these shorts. They are the peeeeerfect wash, I love the high rise & the length spot on. HIGHLY recommend. This was my first purchase from this brand and I am already wanting to make another denim purchase. I am hooked! [I sized up and probably could have gotten my normal if I wanted a closer fit]
So many of the things I loved from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale sold out unbelievably quickly! BUT, these sneakers are thankfully still in stock and definitely worth a buy. One of the things I knew I was specifically searching for during the sale was a black pair of kicks. I wear my white sneakers so much and I had been wishing for a solid black pair for a while.
Reasons why I am OBSESSED with this pair:
–They are low profile. A must for me with sneakers because I think if they come up higher on my ankle it shortens my leg too much and makes them unflattering.
–The suede and leather combo makes them chic. This means I can wear them with jeans, shorts, skirts & dresses. An option I don’t feel like I have with Nike running shoes.
–The white sole is significant without being a large platform.
FYI: I had to return my first pair and go a 1/2 size up from my regular size.
These sneakers also come in a grey and mauve pink. I saw these in store and the colors are even better in person! They’re on sale for under $60 right now!! I wore mine this weekend with cut off shorts and a black tank but I can’t wait to pair them with leather leggings and a over-sized sweater in the Fall. OMG, sounds so good–eek!
