Merry Christmas–A night in with friends!

It is so much fun to get all dressed up and go to a holiday party.  I love it!  But… I also love just staying in for the night.  This weekend we had friends over to our lake house on Friday night–comfortable clothes, yummy (yet easy) appetizers and plenty of cocktails!  We attempted to play board games but really just ended up in our pajamas catching up on all of the drama going on on Bravo and rewatching the Lady Gaga documentary, ha!

I thought it would be fun to share all of our eats with you all!  I think it’s important to remember that you don’t have to put days of planning ahead of time or hours in the kitchen into a get together.  Just make it as easy as possible and focus on spending time with your friends!  These are all ideas that you can throw together if your night in ends up being super last minute!

Meat & Cheese Tray..

This time we went with blue cheese, gouda, hard salami & prosciutto.  We used the new marble board and cheese cutters that my mom gifted me for my birthday.  I am obsessed and they would make a PERFECT gift!

Shrimp..

Grab some cooked shrimp and add some cocktail sauce on the side.  Doesn’t get easier than that, right?  And it’s nice to have something that isn’t too salty, sweet or filling in the mix.

Salami Roll Ups..

Spread some light cream cheese on a thinner piece of salami.  Fold in half and roll up.  Stick a toothpick in it and add an olive of your choice!  We used blue cheese stuffed ones.

Sundried Tomato & Olives..

I know these are taste specific (Ethan doesn’t like either of these items, but I do haha!) but they are easy and different.  I just got a jar of sundried tomatoes and added one of those and an olive to a toothpick.

Thin Crust Pizza..

Fancy? No.  Good and filling?  Yes.  We got the California Pizza Kitchen margarita and Sicilian pizza and then cut it Cali style into little squares.

Ritz Sweet Treats..

These are such an odd combination but they were such a crowd pleaser!  Ritz makes a cracker dipped in a thin layer of chocolate this season (we got ours at Kroger).  All you have to do is take one of those and add a bit of honey on top.  Place a piece of brie cheese on each one and you’re done.  Salty, savory & sweet!

Sugar Cookies..

Our friend Mason brought these and they were so yummmmmmy.  && cute!

Afterall, ’tis the season for consuming endless calories and laughing with those you love, right?? I think YES!

A red sweater for Christmas!

Perfect red sweaters for the holidays—check.  Done!  When I found this one online I knew it was the one.  It’s a soft material (zero itch factor) and a true red.  I love the classic cable mixed with the trendy cut of it too.  I think it is perfect with jeans and will be adorable with a high waist skirt!  FYI.. shop this one fast!!!  It’s selling so quickly so I linked a few different retailers that have it available down below.  [wearing a small]

I paired it with my favorite chunky beanie and some neutrals when we were in Toronto (full travel diary to come soon)!  && these boots and jeans are a MUST.  Both are staples in my closet.  My boots are still on sale FYI and run true to size.  I went one size up in my jeans.  They’re a very comfortable stretchy material!  We took a quick stroll around the Christmas Market in the Distillery District and it was so cute!  Lots of little vendors, pretty lights and food stands.

I hope you all are having a good week!  I am trying to savor these days before the holidays when everything seems exciting and festive.  I know the January blues will hit soon enough so we might as well enjoy every second of Dec!  We are having some friends down to the lake house on Friday for some appetizers, cocktails and board games and I cannot wait to enjoy some time around the Christmas tree!

CHEERS to 30!

Today is Thanksgiving & it’s also my 30th birthday!  So cheers to leaving my 20s and entering into my 30s!  We’re celebrating in style too.  We had friends over last weekend and did a blind champagne tasting (more details on that to come) and yesterday we took off and landed on Toronto for a long weekend away!  Ethan and I have never been here before and it was on our list so I am so excited to explore.  Today we grabbed coffee, did a little shopping, had a leisurely lunch and then actually just relaxed (something we almost neverrrr do on trips since we try to squeeze in tons of blogging too) so it was really nice.  We did head downstairs and snap these pics before it got dark though.  I plan to wear this to dinner tonight and I am really excited because Ethan picked a place and made some surprise reservations for us [how sweet, right?].  I wore this lace tunic last year for NYE and I thought it would be a good thing to pull back out for a celebratory dinner.  I added my favorite new faux fur coat [on sale] and a hat and muff I have that were my grandmothers.  I adore wearing things that are old and special so I knew this would be a great time to pull out these glamour items.  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving day!

How to Shop my Instagram Outfits: LiketoKnow.it Tutorial for the LTK app!

Since there are SO many good deals right now and since everyone does SO much shopping during the coming weeks, I figured now would be a good time to give you all a little lesson on how you can shop the items you see featured in any of my posts on Instagram.   LIKEtoKNOW.it is an awesome feature provided with the company I work with as a blogger, RewardStyle.  The LIKEtoKNOW.it technology allows you all to shop any of the items I feature, this way you can always know where things are from in case you want to purchase!  It also tracks orders so I can make a small commission on any purchase you end up making once you get to the website.  I know that this does not make any difference to you all, but it is something I am SOOOO appreciative of, because it allows me to operate WW and bring content to you all.

Recently, LIKEtoKNOW.it (which you will see referred to as LTK) launched an app!  The app is free to download for iPhone and Android and is TOTALLY worth having because it makes shopping the items so easy.  I am amazed by how they have been able to do this, seriously!  Just follow the steps below & of course let me know if you have any questions.
