These sunglasses are my second favorite pair in my collection. They are the Gucci round-frame acetate sunglasses with star. I got mine at one of the Gucci boutiques when we were in Hawaii this past January and have worn them tons since!
STYLE NAME:
Gucci round-frame acetate sunglasses with star
STYL NUMBER:
Style 491408 J0740 1112 (Please note this was the number listed on the product page for a black pair. The tortoise pair, like mine seen here, was not available on the official Gucci site at the time I published this post.)
COLOR:
Havana w olive gradient lenses
MEASUREMENTS (in mm):
49-28-140
eye-bridge-temple
PROS:
They offer an oversized fit. I have a larger face shape so I only like sunglasses that are on the larger size. These fit the bill and the slight cat eye shape is flattering.
NO nose pieces! I hate how those get stuck in my hair when I put sunglasses on my head when indoors.
SUPER sturdy. These frames are thick and you can tell they are great quality. They do not loose shape easily like my pairs with wire arms.
They come with a hard case, which I love for travel and transporting. And bonus–it’s a jewel tone velvet one, which is so fitting for Gucci! They colors vary but mine is a bold purple. Not something I would chose normally, but I think it’s fun for a twist and doesn’t really matter since it is only the carrying case.
CONS:
My biggest complaint is the lenses are not as dark as I would like them to be. I wish they provided a darker view and more protection from the sunlight. But it is worth noting that my eyes are VERY sensitive to bright light.
The stars and logo on the arm pieces don’t always go with the vibe I am feeling. With some outfits I think they can be a bit much. However, I do really like the detail and enjoy having them for a fun and more flashy option. And for times when I am feeling a more simple look I reach for my Celine pair (review HERE).
MY EXACT PAIR IS CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR 48% OFF! CRAZY! YOU CAN SHOP THEM—-HERE. Right now the black pair is still listed on the actual Gucci website and for full price.
A couple photos so you can see how the frames fit me. (FYI, my face is larger and the same sunglasses usually look bigger on other people than they do on me.)
