I am so excited to share my travel diary from both NYC and Quebec City with you all!
First things first.. Here’s the super casual outfit I opted for on the plane. These jeans have the perfect amount of stretch and these flats are so padded on the inside!

Right before we started our first busy day in the city we had to have a latte, of course. I had seen Cafe La Cerra on IG and knew it would be a good place to stop in. And yes, I definitely had my Adidas on. No heels until the last minute, haha!
Here’s a better look at what I wore to the Jill Stuart show. I LOVED the texture on this two-piece set and I can’t wait to pair it with a black bodysuit and over-the-knee suede boots in the cooler months ahead! But–sidenote–these suede heels are actually really comfortable and I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of them. They come in lots of colors.

The Jill Stuart show was in such an amazing space. There were floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls and the view of the water was just gorgeous. I loved all the silky numbers in her collection and there was lots of unexpected layering under dresses. The shoes were definitely my favorite part though! The ones with a chunky heel and ankle strap! Check it all out here.
We made sure to make time to pop into the ShopStyle Event later that afternoon. They really did a great job picking a venue and getting some great brands involved that were willing to be interactive with bloggers. (And we can’t over look how nice it was to be in air conditioning and have a cold glass of champs! The city was hot the entire time we were there but after the rain that came down that afternoon it literally became a sauna outside, ha!) I was so happy to see Gigi New York at the event because I am really excited for their new arrivals. Shop my favorites here:
Next, we had to scurry back so I could change clothes and we had just barely enough time to squeeze this shoot for Nordstrom in before it got dark. Afterwards it was time for a little bit of celebrating! I have a few dear friends that live in the city and one of them just got engaged! So we headed to Flute Bar for some champs Saturday night and then [after shooting this look bright and early the next day] we headed to Doc Watson’s for brunch. They have the cutest hidden patio out back that was nice and cool and great drink and entree prices too!
&& then it was off to change (again) and head to another show! This suede dress is probably my favorite thing I bought for our trip. I love the cut and the color and the pockets! I will be wearing it again, hopefully with boots soon! You can also find it here.

When I saw that the Jenny Packham show was going on while we were going to be in town I was dying to go so I was thrilled to be able to attend! The atmosphere inside the show seemed so exciting and dramatic to me and I loved everything that was going down the runway. Her collection ranged from gorgeous embellished gowns that were so unique to flowy sleeved numbers with large round sunglasses–very 70’s. I was so into all of it! I’ll be taking little pieces from her show and working them into my wardrobe for Fall!
Even after being in the hustle and bustle of the city for a few days, the Jenny Packham show left me recharged and excited so I wanted to enjoy our last night in the city! After shooting a set of photos for an exciting collaboration [more to come on that very soon], Ethan and I headed off in search of a drink and dinner. I was dying to try some frose so we popped in Bar Primi for a glass (the cocktail held up it’s end of the bargain but unfortunately the service did not) so we then decided to walk over to Little Italy to find some pasta for dinner!
It was such a nice night out and such a surreal feeling to look up and see the lights shining in honor of 9/11. We ended up stopping in Aunt Jake’s and had the BEST meal! Seriously give it a try if you are ever in the area. They make all their own pasta [so yummmm] and had the cutest book that they brought your check in that had notes from tons of people who had eaten there before. I, of course, had to leave a glowing thank you in there before we headed off to grab my first cannoil and jump into bed.
We decided to get up early and head over to DUMBO to check out the view and grab coffee and a croissant before our flight. See more here. I had never walked around the area and it was definitely a view worth seeing and the chill in the air was much appreciated! && then it was off to Quebec City…
It would have been great to have had more time in the city. There were so many more brands I wanted to meet with and so many more fun shows and events going on! I think we will plan to be there for a longer period of time next year.
Hope you all enjoy following along! Stay tuned for part 2 of our travel diary!
