Abercrombie Mini Skirt || Sweater, similar || Marc Fisher OTK Boots || J.Crew Coat || Quay Sunglasses || Rings || Rado Watch, similar

It was New Year’s Day yesterday so in true celebratory fashion I figured I needed a yum Bloody Mary and some eggs benny.  Brunch?  Yes, please!  Don’t worry we did all share a side of black eye peas too!  They are said to bring good luck if eaten on the first day of the year.  Did you all have any??

We met Ethan’s fam to eat and snapped these right before we headed inside.  I just got this skirt in && I couldn’t love it more.  I have always been a fan of an a-line mini skirt (I think they are flattering) and when I saw that this one was velvet AND studded I was sold!

Bonus: It’s also on sale right now–only $25.  How crazy?  [wearing a 0]

Also, you don’t want to skip out on these boots.  I have worn them wayyyy more than I thought I would and it seems like every time I do I get compliments on them!  They are fully in stock here & will ship for free.  I also found these sunnies back in stock on the same site!

I hope you all had a great New Year’s Day and got to be a little lazy at home!  I definitely took a nap that afternoon and it was amaze!

Sunday Uniform

Coat [on sale!] || Sweater, similar here || Leggings || Tennies || Sunnies || Hat [under $20] || Handbag, similar here || Earrings

This easy outfit was perfect for this afternoon–we met my fam for some deep dish pizza, yummm!  It doesn’t get any more “weekend” in my book than this.  Leggings, a cozy sweater & a warm coat!

thumbnail_img_8191I’ve seriously had this Bernardo coat on since it came out of the box ha! && these leggings by Zella are worth grabbing.. promise!  They are high-waited and the details make them stand out a little. [wearing an xs]  Then I added a bit of trend to the look with these Steve Madden velvet sneakers [wearing my normal size, but I wish I had sized up a 1/2] , this Urban Outfitters satin hat [on sale!] and these Quay over-sized glasses [under $45]!

Hope you all had a perf Sunday!

Weekend Uniform

Sweater [on sale!] || Tank || Leggings || Tennis Shoes || Beanie || Handbag || Sunnies || Scarf

9 times out of 10 you can find me in some sort of outfit similar to this during the weekend. I threw this on this past Sturday am to run errands becuase I like to keep it casual during the day.  Soooo, I end up in these Nikes.  A lot.  They are the most comfortable tennis shoe.

I realized this sweater was on sale so I had to snap a few pics to share with you all.  It also comes in a bright red that’s perfect for the holidays!  [wearing a small]

Here are a few other great options [that I loooooove] from Free People that are also on sale:

Buy quickly before the prices go back up!  I just bought this one and I cannot wait for it to arrive!

Hope you all had a good weekend!  We actually squeezed in a little time for a Christmas movie late last night so I felt like it was a successful weekend.   Of course we watched…Home Alone 2.  My FAVORITE! Up next…National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Black on Black

Sweater || Leggings || Tennies || Handbag || Sunnies || Pom Pom [only $5 today!]

When in doubt…just throw on your favorite black pieces!  That’s my go-to!  This sweater is the best. I love the texture of it and the rolled up sleeve that is slightly oversized but not extreme.  And the turtleneck is perfect becuase it not tight or constricting. [wearing a small]

I threw this on this morning so Ethan and I could come grab coffee before shooting and when I was putting this post up for you all I noticed that the exact pom pom key chain I have on my purse is on sale today for only $5!  Sooooo, that prompted me to give the rest of the Express site a little run through and I ended up buying the following things:

I couldn’t help but snag the same pom pom in grey and tan and I also got this extra large black one to pair with the one I already have.  They would make a great stocking stuffer or gift for a girlfriend!

I also love this chunky knit so I ordered it in beige.  [I sized up two and went with a medium, hoping it’s oversized that way]

It’s no secret that I love a beanie this season… so I couldn’t resist this one with a tiny pop of color!

&& I was just kicking myself this weekend for not having a black a-line mini skirt.  I was even searching the internet for exactly that yesterday so I am thrilled to find this one today!  I always end up wanting a black skirt to pair with tops/sweaters and over-the-knee boots this time of year and I think an a-line cut is much more flattering than one that fits tighter at the bottom and sticks to your thighs. [I ordered a size 0 in this]

Let me know if you all end up getting some goodies from this sale too!  I found SO many things I wanted.  I had to delete a lot from my cart before tapping on the ‘place my order’ button.  Ha!

On trend: Velvet

Sweater [comes in 2 other colors] || Long Sleeve Tee [only $19] || Jeans || Scarf [Under$30!] || Tennis Shoes || Beanie [Under $30!]|| Sunglasses || Handbag || Lipgloss [color: Stripped]

If there’s one trend I have fallen head over heels for this season it definitely has to be velvet!  I love the texture of it so when I saw these Steve Madden sneaks I had to have them.  && how cute are the satin laces? [wearing a 7.5 here, I would suggest sizing up a half or whole size]

We snapped these pics after a brunch when we were in Chicago recently.  I layered a long sleeve tee under this turtleneck sweater (it’s a good one) so I could skip a jacket and add a little length.  The long sleeve tee is the perfect basic for your closet! [wearing a small in both]

FYI, these are the exact jeans I am wearing.  They just come with a finished hem.  I cut mine myself.  And how cute is that back pocket?  [TTS, wearing a size 25]

dsc_1621dsc_1623 is my birthday!  We had a [early] birthday dinner last night with my dad (you may have seen the picture I snapped on my IG story of the bruschetta–best everrrrr) and later we’re headed to see the rest of my family.  Cannot wait for some Mexican!  That’s what I suggested my mom make for us.  I figure it will be a good contrast to all the turkey and ham that we are about to eat on Thursday. Ha!
