I fell in love with this coat the moment I saw it online this year!  I love the gold hardware with the grey color of the coat and the fur on the hood makes it a no brainer.  You can find my exact coat here.  It is selling quickly though so if your size isn’t available take a look at the J.Crew version here.  I can’t say enough good things about this pair of black denim.  They’re super affordable at $54 and have just the right amount of stretch while holding shape so I wear them tons (see here, here & here).  You’d never know it from this post because my boots have an over-the-knee fit, but the jeans have tears in the knees for a laid back feel.  They are definitely my go-to pair on the weekend–such a good pair to snag.  My scarf is from Love Always, but this exact one is sold out.  I think this one is a really cute alternative though!

January seems to be in full swing here because it is chillllly this week! It’s looking like it’s time to bundle up!

What’s more fun than sequins?  Right?  They’re always my go-to during the holiday season–so fun for both Christmas and New Years!  This exact skirt isn’t available anymore.  I got it a few years ago at J.Crew and have worn it WAY more than I expected.  (Ask my friends, they’re probably sick of seeing it. For sure.)  I think it would be a great NYE outfit because you can mix it with different pieces and wear it again.  I know I’m guilty of buying a dress for the night, wearing it once and never pulling it out again.  Bad, bad, bad.  So I linked some similar options for you all: here, here, here, here, AND here!  🙂 I’ll be sharing another option before the night but I would love to know what you all are thinking… Any good outfit ideas?

I have had a love for leopard for as long as I can remember.  And I am so into faux fur right now too, so when I saw this coat I added it to my shopping cart without giving it a second thought.  Because everyone NEEDS a leopard fur coat, right?  Duh.  But in all seriousness, I do think it’s really chic.  I’m wearing it here as a holiday look, but I think it will be perfect with just a black knit dress or jeans and a white blouse too.  That’s the beauty of leopard, it’s so easy to add to a plain outfit and suddenly make it interesting.  The sizing of this coat is limited so I linked a few of other great options as well.

If you’re not in weekend mode yet, then it’s time!  I’m heading for an Olivia Pope sized glass of red in a minute myself!signature

Oh my goodness–I am so excited to be writing this!  Doing something with fashion has always been a dream of mine and I have wanted to make that a reality by creating a blog for some time now.  I am thrilled that it has come to life!  I started showing my daily outfits on my Instagram a while back (which I still plan to do) and Weekend Wishing will be an extension of that.  I want to share tid bits of my life and oodles of outfits with you all in the future and I hope that you will follow along!

I don’t know what type of person I would be if I kicked off this journey without some huge thank you’s too.  Thank you all for caring enough about my outfits to follow along on Instagram.  That may seem silly to some but to me it’s nothing of the sort–without your encouragement I wouldn’t be able to be posting this now!  Thank you to my friends and family for letting me chat about the blog time and time again and for urging me to do this.  And most importantly thank you to my boyfriend, Ethan.  He’s the best.  He’s already spent lots of time behind the camera lens for me and plenty of nights in my closet/office (tour of that coming soon!) at the computer rather than on the couch watching football.  So, in short–I’m really grateful for you all!

Ok, and just one last thing before we get on to the clothes!  🙂  You wouldn’t be viewing this website right now if it weren’t for Rebecca Redding.  Working with a graphic designer and photographer who is not only very talented but also understands your vision is a blessing.

So–this outfit above..  I knew I wanted my first outfit post to be a skirt and top.  These are my favorite items to buy because I think they lead to so many options.  Don’t get me wrong–I love a cute dress, but with a skirt and top you can always mix them into other outfits.  For example, this chunky grey sweater is going to have a totally different vibe when I pair it with dark denim, a plaid scarf, and a casual tote next.  I am so into leather this season and when I found this little mini I knew I had to have it.  I love the texture and the price point is good– it’s not a closet staple piece so it wont break the bank!  If you order, I would size up one.  And last but not least, these over-the-knee boots are my one of my very favorite items I’ve ordered in a while!  They have the cutest gold zippers on the inside and back, have a great heel height, and are actually really comfy.  They’re on sale too!  I think this outfit would be great for date night with your guy or for cocktails with your girlfriends–and let’s be honest, we all need those kinda nights!
