9.2.16

Whew we made it y’all!  I don’t know about you but it’s felt like a really, really long week to me.  I hate to say it but I’m glad it’s coming to an end and I am definitely excited to have a long weekend ahead!  Cheers to that right?!  Hope you all enjoy this edition of #fridayVIBES!

FALL TRENDS I AM LOVING

I used to seriously dread Fall.  I thought it was so depressing that summer and bathing suit weather was coming to an end but as I’ve gotten older I have totally changed my mind on that one.  I am seriously so excited for a change of season this year!  And I think that is largely in part to the fashion trends that I can’t wait to see people sporting.  You know how sometimes it takes you a long time to come around to the idea of a trend and then you finally like it?  Well, that is not the case with me this year.  I am totally into these!

First off–velvet!  I know, crazy that this is back in style right?  But I love a good texture and I can’t wait to incorporate some into my wardrobe.  Here are a few items that I am crushing over:

Next up–chunky heel boots.  Yep..and how great is that because that also means they will be more comfy to walk in!  I just ordered this over the knee pair [obsessed, I got them in suede not leather] and I’m really wanting to order this dress to pair them with.  I also love these for a shorter version.  How cute would they be with these jeans?!  More options here:

&& lastly–bell sleeves.  🙂 Actually, the fact that I liked this one is still surprising me a little.  I am not usually a fan of longer sleeves but this year there are so many cute options so I am totally on board.  It all started with this easy dress.  I have it in black and I can’t say enough good things about it.  It’s comfy and soooo versatile plus the price is pretty darn good and it comes in so many prints too.  There’s a few on sale here for 40% off too.  Also on my wish list [and currently sitting in my cart online tempting me..] is this little sweater number.  I love the cut and I think that I would actually get lots of wear out of it since its a great basic color.   I tagged a few more cuties for you to shop too:

EASY, EASY CHARCUTERIE BOARDthumbnail_IMG_4060

You all.  I may have a slight obsession when it comes to charcuterie boards.  Now, I will admit that the one from one of our local wine bar here is much better than the one you see above BUT it’s also definitely not a make at home type of version for me either.  So that being said, I thought I would share how I like to make mine because it is so, so easy and always a great snack to have up your sleeve when you have friends coming over.  I love that I don’t have to plan for this the night ahead.  I can literally just swing by the grocery on the way home and grab some ingredients and bam yummy appetizer done!  That’s what I did this past Friday when we had friends in town from NYC to entertain!  I make mine on the cutting board my uncle made me and I usually put all the cold items on there ahead of time and then just stick it in the fridge.  That way all you have to do is pull it out, add crackers and start pouring wine once your guests get arrive!  If you don’t have a cutting board that would work then here are a few cute options:

I usually try to have a cheese or two, some olives (I like blue cheese stuffed ones from time to time too), hummus, prochiutto, occasionally salami and a couple cracker options on mine.  There’s a million and one options of [better/fancy] things you can add but I like I said I like to keep mine simple–think things you can grab at the grocery store in 5 minutes and won’t stress your wallet.  Let me know if you all have any ideas that I should add into the mix next time!
