YOU NEED A PAIR OF LOAFERS IN YOUR CLOSET

Turtleneck || Jeans, similar || Faux Fur Stole || Velvet Loafers || Handbag || Sunglasses

Sometimes I struggle with shoes to wear to work.  It’s hard to find a pair that is comfortable enough for all day wear and still on point style-wise.  I have a couple pairs of trusty ballet flats but as it gets cooler I find myself wanting something that covers up my foot a bit more for warmth and also to hide my pale feet a bit (since I usually only tan for the weekends).  So this year I set out to find a pair of loafers.

Last week I was browsing the Nordstrom site and came across these Sam Edelman loafers.  SOLD.  My favorite flats are Sam Edelman and they have held up great so I figured these would be a good choice.  And when I saw that they came in black velvet with silver hardware I almost couldn’t get them in my cart fast enough.  I think that combo makes them trendy, yet is still so classic.  I think these run true to size/maybe a tad big.  If you are in between sizes I would definitely go down.  [wearing a 7.5]

I plan to wear mine with black skinny pants to the office and with jeans in the evenings and on the weekends.  I have them on here with a pink stole (How fun?!), black turtleneck (Great basic! Wearing a small) and levi’s.  and I cant wait to wear them with my stripe cashmere sweater soon too.  I love how they will elevate a simple outfit.

If you are in the market for some loafers and want to browse a few more options then scroll through these picks:

Alrighty, and now it’s on to packing.  We leave on Thursday for our trip to San Diego and LA and while I cannot wait, I am also having a hard time squeezing everything in this week to get prepped.  So wish me luck.  HAPPY HUMP DAY!

BEANIE – THE PERF COLD WEATHER ACCESSORY

Moto Jacket || Turtleneck || Jeans || Sneakers || Beanie || Handbag || Sunglasses

I had been that girl complaining that the temps weren’t feeling Fall enough around here–until this past weekend that is.  It took a turn for the COLD and I dealt with it by pulling out all my favorite beanies.

I wore this look to grab coffee and then go to lunch with Ethan yesterday after we got finished with a shoot.  I had forgotten how cozy and warm a beanie can be!  Totally makes a difference when in the chill when it’s windy outside.  If you don’t have a couple in your closet then you should change that asap!  I can be pretty picky.  I don’t like slouchy ones and I always make sure they have a pom pom.  I get a lot of wear out of this nude one and I also keep a basic black one in heavy rotation.  && I have my eye on this one.  Might have to order it next!

Today is my Mom’s birthday!  HBD, Pam! 🙂  We are heading home to celebrate with her tomorrow night and then we leave for CA on Thursday so it’s going to be a busy week.  I can’t wait! Hope you all have a good one.  ps, I have a caaaa-ute pair of shoes to share with you all on Wednesday so be on the lookout!

Black on Black

dsc_2546dsc_2530

Sweater || Leggings || Tennies || Handbag || Sunnies || Pom Pom [only $5 today!]

When in doubt…just throw on your favorite black pieces!  That’s my go-to!  This sweater is the best. I love the texture of it and the rolled up sleeve that is slightly oversized but not extreme.  And the turtleneck is perfect becuase it not tight or constricting. [wearing a small]

I threw this on this morning so Ethan and I could come grab coffee before shooting and when I was putting this post up for you all I noticed that the exact pom pom key chain I have on my purse is on sale today for only $5!  Sooooo, that prompted me to give the rest of the Express site a little run through and I ended up buying the following things:

I couldn’t help but snag the same pom pom in grey and tan and I also got this extra large black one to pair with the one I already have.  They would make a great stocking stuffer or gift for a girlfriend!

I also love this chunky knit so I ordered it in beige.  [I sized up two and went with a medium, hoping it’s oversized that way]

It’s no secret that I love a beanie this season… so I couldn’t resist this one with a tiny pop of color!

&& I was just kicking myself this weekend for not having a black a-line mini skirt.  I was even searching the internet for exactly that yesterday so I am thrilled to find this one today!  I always end up wanting a black skirt to pair with tops/sweaters and over-the-knee boots this time of year and I think an a-line cut is much more flattering than one that fits tighter at the bottom and sticks to your thighs. [I ordered a size 0 in this]

Let me know if you all end up getting some goodies from this sale too!  I found SO many things I wanted.  I had to delete a lot from my cart before tapping on the ‘place my order’ button.  Ha!

Oh my goodness–I am so excited to be writing this!  Doing something with fashion has always been a dream of mine and I have wanted to make that a reality by creating a blog for some time now.  I am thrilled that it has come to life!  I started showing my daily outfits on my Instagram a while back (which I still plan to do) and Weekend Wishing will be an extension of that.  I want to share tid bits of my life and oodles of outfits with you all in the future and I hope that you will follow along!

I don’t know what type of person I would be if I kicked off this journey without some huge thank you’s too.  Thank you all for caring enough about my outfits to follow along on Instagram.  That may seem silly to some but to me it’s nothing of the sort–without your encouragement I wouldn’t be able to be posting this now!  Thank you to my friends and family for letting me chat about the blog time and time again and for urging me to do this.  And most importantly thank you to my boyfriend, Ethan.  He’s the best.  He’s already spent lots of time behind the camera lens for me and plenty of nights in my closet/office (tour of that coming soon!) at the computer rather than on the couch watching football.  So, in short–I’m really grateful for you all!

Ok, and just one last thing before we get on to the clothes!  🙂  You wouldn’t be viewing this website right now if it weren’t for Rebecca Redding.  Working with a graphic designer and photographer who is not only very talented but also understands your vision is a blessing.

So–this outfit above..  I knew I wanted my first outfit post to be a skirt and top.  These are my favorite items to buy because I think they lead to so many options.  Don’t get me wrong–I love a cute dress, but with a skirt and top you can always mix them into other outfits.  For example, this chunky grey sweater is going to have a totally different vibe when I pair it with dark denim, a plaid scarf, and a casual tote next.  I am so into leather this season and when I found this little mini I knew I had to have it.  I love the texture and the price point is good– it’s not a closet staple piece so it wont break the bank!  If you order, I would size up one.  And last but not least, these over-the-knee boots are my one of my very favorite items I’ve ordered in a while!  They have the cutest gold zippers on the inside and back, have a great heel height, and are actually really comfy.  They’re on sale too!  I think this outfit would be great for date night with your guy or for cocktails with your girlfriends–and let’s be honest, we all need those kinda nights!
