4 Combos Perfect for Fall

There are so many good scarf + sweater combos out there right now [too many if you ask my mail man] so I wanted to round up a few of my favorite options for you all to shop.  However–I couldn’t just leave it at that.. I had to throw in some fun sunglasses to complete the look!

The beauty of the items above?  You can mix and match all of them because all the scarfs are neutral tones and all the sweaters are great basics.

This ombre scarf is a little pricy but sometimes it’s worth it for a good neutral option becuase you know you will wear it again next year too.  && this tunic is a no brainer–perfect length for leggings and boots.  How cute paired with these fun round sunglasses?

After buying this cozy number I am now a huge fan of Free People scarves, so I am loving this option.  I’d pair it with this textured tan sweater [size up one or two] and these over-sized sunnies with clear trim.

Totally crushing over this cream cable knit scarf and longline turtleneck together too.  The perfect ‘winter white’ combo even if it’s only October, ha!  Top it off with these dramatic sunglasses in gold.  I just got the silver/black version and I LOVE them.  They were sold out forever and I am so glad they are finally back in stock at a few retailers!

Never under estimate the number of times you will work a black scarf into your outfit & this one has the cutest detail!  I love the idea of it paired with this basic grey sweater and rimless sunglasses.  Simple but so good.

Share your faves with me–I’d love to hear!

Friday Finds

Happy Friday loves!  All I have been wanting to buy lately is new sweaters.  Seriously.  There are so many great ones out there right now so I figured I would share 5 new ones that I snagged this week with you all!

Style tip:  More often that not, I like to size up [at least one size] when buying sweaters so they fit really relaxed and a bit over-sized.  I included my sizing in each below for reference.

First up, this little bell sleeve cutie.  Under $60!  && comes in black and rust too! I had been eyeing so many similar options to this but they were all double the price so I was thrilled to when I got this one in mail and loved it! (wearing an xs)

I came across this circle hem tunic when I was in search of a black bodysuit this week and I had to have it!  I love the length (it would pair great with leggings and boots) and soft material.  I know it will be the one I will end up grabbing over and over again during the week when I am looking for something easy.  Sorry you can’t see the ribbed detail on the hem in this quick snapshot!  It also comes in black and brown here. Fringe is so big this season so when I saw this sweater I couldn’t resist.  I love how cuddly the material is and that it has a little unexpected flare with the detail in the hem and sleeves!  I know I will wear it tons because it will also be filed under: wear with yoga pants around the house.  I love to do that–it makes me feel so much cozier and happier than having on an old t-shirt.  (wearing a small)

&& I know this next one isn’t really a sweater but I am loooving it so I had to include it in this mini round up!  It’s a good feeling material and only $35.  The back is super cute to without being too exposing.  I paired mine with this black cami earlier this week and loved it. (wearing a small)

The internet just doesn’t do this next sweater justice.  I got it in and showed it to Ethan and I said, “wait.. you have to feel this!”  It’s one of those unexpectedly softies and has the perfect slouch.  (wearing a small)

I hope your Friday goes smoothly and your happy hour arrives quickly today! 🙂

I know so many people have had to evacuate due to Hurricane Matthew and you all are definitely on my mind.  Stay safe!

Split-back Sweater || Scarf || Distressed Denim, similar || Over-the-Knee Boots || Sunnies || Ring, Ring, Ring

I almost ordered this sweater a couple months ago. I had it in my cart and then eventually deleted it BUT I came back around to it when searching for a new cream sweater and I am SOOO glad I did. I can’t say enough good things about it.. perfect length in the front, super soft, really warm, and the slit in the back is the perfect size (I didn’t want it to come up too far and show skin). It comes in a red and a stripe version too. All I have been wanting to wear lately are neutrals and I was excited to trade in some of my Christmas-y scarves for some light colored basics. I ordered this one shown above and this light colored plaid and this neutral herringbone. I was so pleased with all of them when they arrived–& now I’m wearing one of the three just about everyday (guilty)! If you’re in a little cold weather slump then order one to brighten up your wardrobe. They certainly have helped me get dressed and out the door on these chillllly days!

We got our first snow in Kentucky last night and we’re supposed to get oodles more later this week. I have to admit, all I am thinking as I type that is.. gosh I better stop and get some more rose´ tomorrow. #snowstormessentials Stay warm & safe!

Oh my goodness–I am so excited to be writing this!  Doing something with fashion has always been a dream of mine and I have wanted to make that a reality by creating a blog for some time now.  I am thrilled that it has come to life!  I started showing my daily outfits on my Instagram a while back (which I still plan to do) and Weekend Wishing will be an extension of that.  I want to share tid bits of my life and oodles of outfits with you all in the future and I hope that you will follow along!

I don’t know what type of person I would be if I kicked off this journey without some huge thank you’s too.  Thank you all for caring enough about my outfits to follow along on Instagram.  That may seem silly to some but to me it’s nothing of the sort–without your encouragement I wouldn’t be able to be posting this now!  Thank you to my friends and family for letting me chat about the blog time and time again and for urging me to do this.  And most importantly thank you to my boyfriend, Ethan.  He’s the best.  He’s already spent lots of time behind the camera lens for me and plenty of nights in my closet/office (tour of that coming soon!) at the computer rather than on the couch watching football.  So, in short–I’m really grateful for you all!

Ok, and just one last thing before we get on to the clothes!  🙂  You wouldn’t be viewing this website right now if it weren’t for Rebecca Redding.  Working with a graphic designer and photographer who is not only very talented but also understands your vision is a blessing.

So–this outfit above..  I knew I wanted my first outfit post to be a skirt and top.  These are my favorite items to buy because I think they lead to so many options.  Don’t get me wrong–I love a cute dress, but with a skirt and top you can always mix them into other outfits.  For example, this chunky grey sweater is going to have a totally different vibe when I pair it with dark denim, a plaid scarf, and a casual tote next.  I am so into leather this season and when I found this little mini I knew I had to have it.  I love the texture and the price point is good– it’s not a closet staple piece so it wont break the bank!  If you order, I would size up one.  And last but not least, these over-the-knee boots are my one of my very favorite items I’ve ordered in a while!  They have the cutest gold zippers on the inside and back, have a great heel height, and are actually really comfy.  They’re on sale too!  I think this outfit would be great for date night with your guy or for cocktails with your girlfriends–and let’s be honest, we all need those kinda nights!
