White Ruffles

I cannot believe it is already May.  I feel like Memorial Day Weekend will be here before we know it and Summer will officially be underway!  We’re heading down to the lake this year to celebrate with friends and I cannot wait–I just need to locate a rainbow unicorn float.  I have my heart set on floating on one this year.  I mean, does that not sound like a good time?!  Add a loaded Corona it’s bound to be a good day.  Have you all ever had those?  Ethan introduced me to them.. You drink the neck of the beer (I like Corona Light) and then you top it off with some Bacardi Limon.  The combination is yum!

Sorry for the ramblings about Summer, ha.  I just love spending time on the water so I get a little carried away!

Let’s chat about this ruffle top–I have been looking for one like this to pair with a denim mini for a while and I think this one is a winner.  I ordered this one and it runs HUGE, so don’t make that mistake and then I gave this one a try and fell in love! I think I will pair it with black skinnies and some fun heels for a date night next weekend and I am sure the look you see here will be repeated asap too!  [wearing an xs]

I hope you all are having a good week so far!  I love how long it’s staying light in the evenings.  Totally helps me get through the week days and makes them SO much more enjoyable.

Ankle Strap Heels

I can’t believe it’s April already, but I am really excited!  I feel like everyone has so many different events coming up soon.  We have an out of town wedding to go to next weekend and the weekend after we will be at Keeneland and out with friends and the weekend following that I will be in Dallas for the RewardStyle Conference.  And I know I am not the only one who has a full calendar–sooo, that got me thinking about shoes.  I am not a gal who wears heels during the week (gimmie me all the comfy ones M-F) but some of these upcoming events require them.  So what’s my go-to style?  An ankle strap sandal.

They are minimal, understated and sleek.  Because of this, they pair well with soooo many different outfits and work for soooo many different occasions.

This pair has been on heavy rotation since I bought them last Fall.  I wear them with jeans, dresses and skirts.  I cannot believe I have not been back for another pair yet either. They come in oodles of other options & are under $90!  [runs tts]

I know several people have and love these too.  They are really similar and come in some different color options so I think they would be a great pick too!

ps, this slip dress is one that you need.  It’s such an easy one to throw on and packs really well because of the material.  I would definitely wear it with sneakers too!  [runs big, wearing a xxs]

These are my most recent sandal purchase and I am loving them because they are a bit more edgy.  I paired them with some new Levi’s [size up!] and a black bodysuit for an easy weekend look and I cannot wait to wear them with a mini dress too!  They’re also under $90 and come in three other neutral colors too.  [runs tts]

I should also say that I have these and I also LOVE them.  Since they were a splurge, I wear them more for special occasions but I definitely recommend them as well.  I cannot wait to add the black to my closet too one day.

&& if you’re not in the market to invest in a pair then these are a GREAT alternative to the Stuart Weitzman pair!  They are just as classic and easy to dress up or down.

Also great–these!  Very similar, but I think the placement of the strap on the side of the foot makes them a bit more dressy.  They would be perfect with a cocktail dress.

Side Note:  I think clear sandals are going to be a big trend in the upcoming seasons & I am ready to jump on board!  I keep seeing them pop up here and there and I’m obsessed.  I just ordered these and I cannot wait to get them in.

I will add some of my other favorites from Nordstrom below for you all too.  I really enjoyed scrolling through and picking these out!

What kinds of events do you all have coming up?!  Anything fun on the calendar that you are counting down the days to??

Studded Sandals for Spring

First and foremost–HAPPY Friday! We made it to the weekend you all!  Deep breath–or at least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😉

Ok, & on to the fun stuff–let’s talk shoes.  Specifically let’s talk studded shoes.  The silver studded accent trend is giving me LIFE.  It’s probably my favorite trend for Spring right now!  I am loving the silver contrast on the black options and also equally love it paired on top of the white and nude versions.  I think it is the perfect way to add a little edge to your look, yet it is subtle enough to pair with shorts and dresses!

I have a feeling I will be going back for more, but these slides were my first purchase and I cannot say enough good things about them.  I wanted a white pair that crossed over in an x and when I saw these at under $100 I was sold.  I love a good wedge and I love a good heel–don’t get me wrong–but in reality I end up wearing my flats more often.  Especially once shorts season is upon us.  So these seemed like a good purchase & I am impressed with the quality.  [these run tts]

I am also dying for this pair in the sand color.  That block heel looks perrrrrfect.  I added a few more of my favorites from Nordstrom down below for you all to browse too.

The search for the right denim short can be oh so hard, right?!  Well, I just got these in and I am so happy with them.  Such a cute lighter, distressed option that is high-waisted and not super, super short.  && bonus–they are only $55.   How cute is that back pocket?  Or lack there of, actually! Ha!  [run tts, I did not size up in these and I often do for denim shorts]

My bag is such an affordable option and I am obsessed with the silver chain!  It comes in three other colors too so snag one for Spring! [under $70]

&& this top is a yes, yes, yes in my book.  I love a good basic that I can reach for time and time again and I was in need of a good v-neck option rather than a strappy cami.  If you are in the same boat, then this one is for you!  It would be the perfect top for work to layer a cardigan or jacket over and comes in oodles of color options. Also available in petite.  [wearing an xs]

Hope you all have a good weekend!  Muah!

What to wear to a wedding

Ok, I got this dress in last week and instantly fell in L-O-V-E!  Then it sold out but now it’s back in stock.  [happy dance] So, that being said, if you are interested then grab one now and do not wait!

On to the details–the quality of this dress is 100% and the price is still under $100.  Win, win.

It also comes in white so if you’re a bride to be this one would be perf for some of your pre wedding activities!

It runs true to size and the straps are adjustable.  Not in a eww that kinda of cheapens the dress kind of way though.. more so in the oh, that’s really helpful kind of way.  [wearing an xs]

The lace makes it classic but the style of it makes it unique.  It makes enough of a statement so you don’t have to fuss with finding a great necklace or earrings to compliment it.  I like it paired with a simple shoe too.

And most importantly, it’s actually a piece that I would consider an easy to wear dress.  It’s not one that you feel like you can’t ride in the car in on the way to your event or have a meal in.  #priorities

I think I am going to wear mine to a wedding we have coming up soon in Savannah!

Cheers to FRIYAY, you all! Muah!

Spring Trends

Some years I hate the transition into Spring.  It’s like I either want a super soft grey cozy sweater or I want a pair of cut off denim shorts–the in between can be hard.  However, this year I have already found myself enjoying the middle months more so I had to ask myself why.  I want to recreate this feeling every year so I am always enjoying time periods rather than wishing them away to get to the next.  So here’s the main two differences from this year..

First, we made a point to travel to warmer spots in the first part of the year.  We did a long weekend in Miami in January and weekend in Charleston in February.  These definitely helped get me ready for Spring.  It was a welcomed change of pace just to be able to have bare ankles so soon in the new year without pushing the envelope too soon here in KY and being grumpy becuase I was really freezing.  So I will definitely try to do some similar travel again next year.

Second, I am really loving some of the fashion trends that are going to be saturating the market this Spring.  I combined several of those into the outfit that you see above.  Easy to wear, off the shoulder tops–light wash denim–mules–chokers–and hoop earrings!  All a yes, in my book!

This Free People lightweight sweater is pretty much stealing the show here though.  It’s the perfect little number to take you into warmer months and it also comes in several other color options!  Pair it with some jean shorts, a glass of wine & a patio and you are good to go! [wearing a small for a slouchy fit]

I am also LOVING this one and this one.  Both will give this same laid back, effortless look.

If you have the shopping bug like me then check out the new arrivals in the trend section on the Nordstrom site.  It’s always one of my favorite places to browse and get ideas of what I want to add to my closet before I finalize an online order.
