I’ll be honest, it took me a little longer to come around to the off-the-shoulder trend than most.  It wasn’t because I didn’t like these tops and dresses, but rather because I have had ones in the past were honestly just a pain to wear because it seemed that every time I moved the shirt would slide back on top of my shoulder instead of staying put.  [insert eye roll]   I gave this cute little number a try though and it actually wears great!  The elastic is perfect and keeps the top from slipping.  I have it paired here with neutral accessories and distressed denim (my favorite combo) but I think I will be able to do a lot with the white over the summer.  It is selling fast so grab one today if you’re interested! Only $48 too! Here are a couple other favorites of mine for you all to browse as well…

If you all are giving this trend a try too then tag me in your photos!  I would love to see how you are styling your off-the-shoulder pieces!

We have had the most gorgeous April here in Kentucky that I can remember.  (Gosh I hope I am not jinxing us by writing this–fingers crossed that it continues!)  My dad has a boat at a small lake close by so we’re able to enjoy that when the weather is warm enough and I’m excited for that to be right around the corner!  Stay tuned for a post coming soon with some cute bathing suit and cover-up options!

Ethan’s birthday is today!  We celebrated with his friends on Saturday and I wore this outfit.  This top and these flats are new and I am in LOVE so we had to snap a few photos to share!  I was drawn to this blouse initially because a love a good black and white stripe, but when I got it the mail I realized I liked it even more because you can tie it in the front.  How cute will it be with some chic black shorts too?  And I love the length of the sleeves–I hate roll up sleeves on blouses when they hit right at the elbow.  It drives me nuts! Anyone else?  I also was in the market for some cute flats to take me into Spring and I wanted them to be a pair that was trendy but also comfy enough to wear all day.  These fit the bill and have an affordable price tag too!

Hope you all are having a good week.  I feel like I have been so busy lately and all I really want to do is have a night to catch up on laundry–does that make me old and boring? Ha!

Cashmere Scarf

I heard a little piece of advice around this time last year to buy a cashmere scarf while they are on sale towards the end of the season because you will be so thankful to have it for years to come.  Sooo, I went on the hunt to find a good basic one about a week ago and I found this gem!  It comes in 8 colors and is a great size and weight to wear now and transition into warmer temps too.  The best part?  It’s on sale right now for under $50 and ships for free!  I opted for ivory so it would go with tons and I’ve had it on about everyday since it arrived at my door.  This black top may seem super basic–but let me tell you, it’s anything but because it’s so soft!  I’m loving the v-neck cut on it too.  I wear mine with this bralette underneath in black.

I’m all packed up to head to New York City this afternoon and I could not be more excited.  It has been SUCH a busy month–I am beyond ready to explore the city with my favorite guy and see what fun Fashion Week has to offer!  Be sure to follow along on Snapchat! (Username: weekendwishing)

Cheers to Hump Day!

I got this sweater in the mail last weekend and I was so super thrilled when I got it out of the bag—it’s soft!  Like so soft that it feels like you have a cuddly blanket on without the bulk.  As we head into the cold winter months items like this are exactly what I want to have in my closet.  I like to nickname things like this as “Monday Items”.  Items so easy and good that they can even make your Monday tolerable.  Plus, the grey and white color combo is an all time favorite of mine.  If you’re looking to make a regular outfit seem a little more festive this month then try adding a red scarf.  So simple!  This one is only $13 too.   Happy Hump Day!
