One of our favorite things to do when we travel is try out a new coffee shop. I get so excited looking for a new spot before we head to a city. I always search IG and the internet for options ahead of time so we have some sort of a game plan when we arrive. Since it’s the first stop of the day we never want to have the search for a latte holding us up when we are ready to get out the door and we also never want to end up at a Starbucks–where’s the fun in that?
My order is always the same though wherever we go: Latte with Skim Milk and Sugar Free (if available) Vanilla. Sometimes I get it iced and sometimes I get hot depending on my mood, not depending on the weather, haha. && I will admit, I am drawn to any coffee shop that has marble tables. Can’t lie!
On our recent weekend trip to Charleston we tried The Rise Coffee bar (seen above) and Black Tap Coffee. Both were good but our favorite was definitely Rise. It’s connected to the Restoration Hotel and after seeing the lobby [and the bathroom, haha]–I can tell you that I for sure want to stay there soon. The vibe is oooh SO good!
I ordered this grey top because I thought it would be great for casual weekend wear and also perfect to throw on over my workout tank with leggings when I’m headed to or from spin class. Is the back not too cute?! Also it’s SOO soft. [wearing a small]

I would like to say I’m in with all the people who are already moving right along in 2017, but in reality I am still dragging along this week. That’s not to say that I am not really excited about the new year and all the great things that are to come–I actually am! I just feel like I need the first couple of weeks of January to ease into it. So, that leads me to more casual wear! It’s all I have been wanting to wear lately and it has made me SO happy!
Case in point, this new distressed neutral hoodie. I am loving it! There are three color options & mine is the blush. It’s over-sized too so I know I will be wearing it lots with leggings this month. [wearing a 6 US and I could have easily ordered a size smaller]

&& I cannot say enough good things about these new tennies! Ethan is my tennis shoe guy.. he pretty much picks out all the pairs I end up getting and he told me these Tubular Shadows were the next big thing. When I looked them up I fell in love with the style. I was kind of wanting a pair in this dark green color scheme already so I was excited to see this option but I also love the grey! I suggest sizing down in these. I normally wear an 8 in tennies, sometimes a 7 1/2 and I got a 7 in these.

This post would probably get written a lot faster for you all if I didn’t have Gossip Girl in the playing in the background. BUT that wouldn’t be any fun, right? Plus, I randomly clicked on one of their famous Thanksgiving episodes to watch so that only seemed appropriate. #priorities
I do want to share my outfit from last Saturday with you though! This sweater was perfect for roaming around Chicago because it’s soft and warm and with a long sleeve layer underneath I was able to skip a coat. [wearing a small] I did add a scarf and beanie! How cute is the fringe trim on this scarf too? There have been SO many times when I needed a black scarf so I know this one will get lots of use.
I didn’t know if it would be smart to wear these Franco Sarto booties because they were new and I hadn’t put them through the walking test but they worked like a charm! I walked around in them all day and didn’t complain once. Cross searching for a perfect suede bootie for the season off my list!

I wore this outfit on Sunday night to dinner at my best friends parent’s house and I loved it. I am all about carrying the of the shoulder trend into the fall months and this top will be just the number to do it with! It’s such an easy wear and I can’t wait to throw it on with leggings and boots too. Plus you will not believe the price–so cheap! I love finding super trendy items at a good price point because you never know how much wear you will actually get out of them. Same goes with these jeans.. The quality is not great on this pair but I was expecting that since they’re under $20, ha. But regardless, I was really happy with them (I just got them in the mail this past weekend) because I loved the way the rips were positioned on the legs and I like length. I think I will wear them lots in the next couple months so they were definitely worth the buy. I’m wearing a small here for sizing reference.
&& on an even brighter note, I was so thankful to see someone post on IG this morning reminding us of a long weekend ahead! That will definitely be what is getting me through this week!
